1. Anyone who tells you they know exactly how to make you successful/rich is a liar if they are making money off of you in anyway. I’m not saying all their advice will be bad but if you do want to take the advice take it with the smallest grain of salt. Everyone thinks they have the “secret formula” will try to sell it to you. The truth of success in business is there is no formula. You try and you learn along the way. That’s kinda it. We have had a business coach in the past that we found helpful but ultimately can’t say I’d recommend it for everyone.
2. Never use AI. Other than the ethical and environmental issues, it just looks bad. It also makes you look bad. I understand not everyone agrees but I implore you to do your research.
3. Cherish your customers and orders, no matter if you have 1 or 1000. Each order means just as much to me as it did 8 years ago. It literally brings me to tears thinking about how many people have bought something me, my husband or our team have made.
4. Your videos might suck. Post em anyway. I know my content might not be the best on this app but I’ll always try to do better. On the other hand, sometimes the content I think is kinda bad from a production value standpoint does really well so I have no idea what will do well so I say post it and see what happens.
5. When you start hiring, hire people you like. I know that’s obvious but working with people I love being around every day makes me feel rich. I could not be more grateful to the people we work with.
6. Keep it moving. Things do not need to be perfect they need to be done. Decision making is a skill that you grow overtime so todays a great day to start if its something you need to work on.
7. Pick your parter carefully. I work with my husband Shane and it’s amazing because we don’t have the same skills so it’s easy to break up tasks. It also makes decision making better, in my opinion, because we have different viewpoints which helps see from a bigger picture. If you are a solopreneur, join an entrepreneur group to bounce ideas around and ask questions so you aren’t alone.
Should I do another one of these? I have a lot more
