A fresh take on a classic kitchen.🤍

By painting the original wood cabinetry to complement the existing floors, adding warm gold accents, and installing beautiful new quartz countertops by Rickert Tile, we transformed this space without losing its character.

This artwork moment is rooted in the legacy of Henri Matisse. A French painter, sculptor, and printmaker, Matisse was a leading figure of modern art, celebrated for his bold use of color, fluid draftsmanship, and groundbreaking role in Fauvism.

His work, The Open Window, reflects a shift in how we experience space, color, and emotion. It’s expressive, effortless, and alive.

When designing Aperitivo, I wanted to embrace that same fluidity - where artwork and design coexist, shaping an atmosphere that feels both historic and contemporary.

What a joy it was bringing Aperitivo Cafe to life. Every detail of this Italian-inspired space was thoughtfully curated, drawing deeply from European culture and timeless design. One of the earliest inspirations was the wallcovering-Stagionato with its delicate floral pattern layered over a linen texture, evoking a beautifully weathered Italian aesthetic. From there, the vision expanded as I discovered a Venetian damask motif that became the foundation for our modular art wall-an element I knew had to be part of the story. The design evolved into a charming European cafe nestled right here in our East Texas community. From the herringbone floors to the tilework, lighting, furniture, and artwork, every detail was crafted with intention and deep passion for design. A project like this is more than a space-it's an experience, and I'm so grateful to have been part of creating it. Thank you for trusting me in the design process. You were a joy to work for. And a big thanks to making the design come to life. 💚
