As we head into this weekend, many of us along the Gulf Coast are preparing for the storm. I'm keeping everyone in my thoughts and hoping you and your loved ones stay safe.

Flowers can wait, orders can wait, and the busy days will come again. Right now, family, friends, and looking out for one another matter most.

As we welcome the second day of October and what looks like a rainy weekend ahead, this charming flower feels like the perfect one to slow down and appreciate.

Mignonette may not be the showiest flower in the garden, but its beauty is found in the details. With tiny clusters of creamy greenish-white blooms, this old-fashioned favorite has been treasured for centuries for its sweet, honey-like fragrance.

A little bit of summer, a little bit of fall, and a whole lot of flower funโ€ฆ meet Strawflower!

With coffee in hand and finally feeling like fall, strawflower seems like the perfect flower to talk about this week. ๐Ÿ‚โ˜•๏ธ

๐ŸŒผ Origin: Strawflower is native to Australia, where it grows in grasslands, woodlands and other open areas.

๐ŸŒผ Meaning: Strawflowers are associated with immortality, remembrance and everlasting loveโ€”which makes perfect sense for a flower that holds its beauty long after it's dried.

๐ŸŒผ Varieties: They come in beautiful shades of white, yellow, orange, pink, red, bronze and purple, with both single and double blooms.

๐ŸŒผ Vase life: Fresh strawflowers can typically last 1โ€“2 weeks with proper care. But their real claim to fame? They can be dried and enjoyed for months or even years!

What a Homecoming weekend! โค๏ธ

This year brought more than twice the number of Homecoming orders as last year, with well over 30 orders going out of the studio! My little hands have been very busy creating corsages, boutonnieres, nosegays and all the little details that make each order special. ๐ŸŒธ

There were definitely some late nights and very little sleep, but I wouldn't trade it. โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

I didn't get nearly as many pictures as I would have liked, but I wanted to share a few from this weekend.

Thank you for keeping my little studio busy and allowing me to be part of so many special moments. It truly means more than you know.

๐Ÿค A little peek at whatโ€™s been keeping me busy in the studio this weekโ€ฆ

This week brought 10 wedding centerpieces, a bridal bouquet, flowers for a special memory table, and several other orders along the way. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’

And I have to mention the sweetest bride I had the pleasure of creating for. It was such a joy bringing her floral vision to life, and I can't wait to share the professional photos when they arrive. ๐Ÿค

There's no slowing downโ€ฆ Homecoming weekend is ahead! Boutonnieres, corsages, nosegays and all the special little details that make Homecoming so special.
