Being a mom is one of the greatest realities of my life. Seeing all four of my children married and raising their own families is a reminder of all that is good, true, and beautiful. We have been truly blessed.
We'd love for you to look around the shop and find something delightful for you to celebrate your mom. We have a limited number of curated gift baskets, as well as spice tins, leather products, and other items your mom might find useful or just plain beautiful.

Thoughtfully Designed Square Spice Tins
These beautifully designed square spice tins fit in your spice rack, cupboard, or drawer without wasted space. The spice is labeled on the top and the side, so regardless of where you store your spices, you can see the label. The top and side are also see-through so you always know how much spice you have. The opening is wide enough for a tablespoon. That's helpful, right? Each tin contains a half-cup of spice. We carry two curated sets, one for baking and one for savory dishes.

Ware by Maki brings handmade leather products to your home from local artisans in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador. Local to DeWitt, Ware by Maki offers knife rolls, leather accessory trays, durable, sleek wallets, and soft pouches you could use to store cosmetics or whatever else you need to carry.
Recipe of the Month:
Roasted Jalapeño Pesto
This is one of those Bobby Flay recipes that my husband makes and puts on eggs. He loves to make eggs on Saturday mornings and slather on this spicy green pesto, regardless of whether the eggs are simply scrambled or baked into a Spanish tortilla with potatoes, chorizo, and piquillo peppers. Try the recipe both ways, once with parsley and once with cilantro.
Ingredients
3 large jalapeños or 8 small jalapeños (or somewhere in between)
Canola or olive oil to coat the jalapeños
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 cups tightly packed fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves OR 1-1/2 cups tightly packed cilantro leaves
1/4 cup pine nuts
1 garlic clove, chopped
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF.
2. In a medium bowl, toss the jalapeños with a few teaspoons of canola or olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Spread them on a baking sheet in an even layer and roast until golden brown and charred, turning every five minutes, about 20 minutes or so. Return the jalapeños to the bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let steam for 15 minutes. Remove the stems and seeds and transfer to a food processor. No need to remove the blistered skins.
3. Add the parsley or cilantro, pine nuts, and garlic to the food processor and pulse to coarsely chop. With the motor running, add the olive oil through the feed tube and process until smooth. Scrape into a bowl, fold in the cheese, and season with salt and pepper. (Add salt, mix, taste, and repeat until it zings. You'll know.) The pesto can be stored in the refrigerator, tightly covered, for several days.
4. Put it on eggs or whatever you want. It's spicy and amazing.
We hope that you all find time to celebrate your mom this coming Sunday. We've all got one, and we can be grateful for all she's done for us. Please tell her how special she is.
Blessings,
Wendy
