Some before-and-afters are dramatic because everything changes.

This one is dramatic because the right things changed.

By layering warm wood tones, custom cabinetry, thoughtful storage, and timeless materials, this kitchen went from builder-basic to feeling completely personal.

Same home. Same footprint. A completely different experience.

Swipe to see where we started.

Built-ins should feel like they were always part of the house not something added after the fact. ✨

The best ones don’t just fill a wall. They frame the room, create rhythm, add warmth, and make everything around them feel more intentional.

A little architecture. A little function. A lot of impact.

The detail that changes everything? Scale.

Not the paint color. Not the sofa. The scale of the room itself.

The rug size. The coffee table size. How the furniture relates to the space around it.

When scale is off, a room never quite feels right — even if every piece is beautiful. When it’s right, everything feels intentional.

Merlot - Not a trend. Not a phase. Just a color I will choose over and over again. 🍷

My personal non-negotiables.

In design: contrast, color, and a little bit of quirkiness.

In life: Diet Coke, working out, a good manicure, and an irrational attachment to lip gloss.

Some things just make life better. ✨

The first furniture layout almost never makes the final cut.

Because what works on paper can feel completely different in real life.

A layout might look perfect scaled out… until you realize the walkway feels tight, the seating doesn’t flow, or the room just isn’t working the way it should.

Which is why we tape everything out before anything gets ordered. It’s not glamorous, but it’s the difference between a room that technically fits and one that actually feels good to live in.

The hardest-working room in the house. ✨

My living room pulls double duty - part lounge, part office.

One side of the room is where I work every day. The other is where we gather, host, unwind, and pretend the to-do list doesn’t exist for a minute. And somehow, it all lives together without the room feeling overly “office-y” or overly formal.

That balance is always the goal for me at home: spaces that are beautiful, but still flexible enough to support real life.

Also proof that a room can be hardworking AND still have a little drama. (Looking at you, black ceiling.)

People who love a dark and moody room are happier, smarter, and funnier.
Source: me. ✨

But I stand by it.

A moody space just hits different — richer, cozier, more layered, more interesting. The contrast, the texture, the drama… forever worth it.

I’ll defend the dark wall every single time. 🖤

Wacker install days are officially underway.

A few of the furniture pieces arrived this week, which means we’re finally getting to watch this project shift from “pretty renderings” to something real.

Still waiting on a few final layers, but between the texture, the mood, and those lake views… this one was always going to be special.

Full reveal soon. ✨

The thing most people save for last? We usually start with it. ✨

Window treatments change everything - softness, scale, texture, warmth. They’re the difference between a room feeling good and a room feeling finished.

I had a client recently say, “I can’t believe how much the window treatments changed the room.”

I know. That’s why I keep pushing for them early. 😉
