Do I know this picture is really weird, and even a tad creepy? Yes. I sure do! Do I care? No, I do not 🤷🏼♀️
So last week, another client was telling me about another organizer they got a quote from, and this company had a contract that stated, that the temperature inside the home must be at 72° while they are working in the home.
At first I was like, "wow, that's super demanding! It has never occurred to me to say that!" and I've worked in some hot rooms.
This picture depicts perfectly how I felt yesterday. When I arrived, the thermostat was set at 78°, but the temperature inside the home was 83°. And just in case you think I'm being rude about a client, we've become friends, and she won't mind me saying this! I worked in it for about an hour, but at the end of the hour, I had sweat dripping in my eyes, my shirt was soaked, and let's just not talk about what was going on down south...🫢
I texted her and asked if I could turn on the air, because it wasn't on. She immediately apologized and told me to make it as cold as I needed etc. So I did. But, I was upstairs, in this huge house that STILL hadn't reached 72° by the time I left 6 hours later.
At 4 separate times during the day, I felt sick, I had overheated and I was miserable. So, I did the only thing I could, and laid on the vent for some kind of relief. My shirt never did dry out though lol!
So, after yesterday, I think I'm ready to say it...I have fibromyalgia. I can not regulate my own body temperature. So during the summer, if I come to your house, I require air conditioning. You can expect me to ask during your consultation, if your air conditioning is working and on! I worked over anp extra 20 minutes for free to cover the 4, 5 minute breaks that I took to try and cool down. I'm not down for that on a regular basis!!!
So, laugh at the picture if you must. But ...
Is your air conditioning on?!?!?!
😆
