I decided to post this here, too 🫶🏻 (It was posted on my main page last night.)
This is going to be a longer one 🩷 & I thank you if you take the time to read all of it 😅
I know I don’t owe anyone an explanation for what I’ve been going through, but after some comments that have been made, I feel like addressing it once & leaving it at that. I'm not only fed up with my health at this point. My body failing me. But I'm fed up on assumptions & judgement. Because there’s a difference between making my struggles my identity & being honest about a season of life I'm in. My current state of health has affected my ability to work, my business, my finances, my plans, & honestly, my ability to feel like myself. I decided to just be totally open as to why I’ve talked about it so much & why Godly Glow has taken so long to get moving again. (Which I cannot stop beating myself up over. I miss my business. I miss my customers 🥺 Love y'all 🫶🏻)
For a little perspective, this is what the last two years have actually looked like:
• June 2024: Gastric sleeve surgery.
• October 2024: Diagnosed with PMDD.
• November 2024: Diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia, anemia & tachycardia.
• February 2025: My eating disorder returned, & I spent roughly 11 months heavily using alcohol again to escape a lot of what was happening in my life.
• September 2025: Hospitalized with Cryptosporidium, a parasitic infection that caused severe dehydration & malnutrition. I've continued dealing with health issues since as it can have last effects on some people.
• November 2025: Started having gallbladder problems, but many of my symptoms were initially said to be from my drinking.
• November 2025 through January 2026: Went through an incredibly traumatic period of my life that took a massive toll on me mentally & physically both. Won't go into detail.
• January 2026: Got sober from alcohol & any other substances I'd use to escape. Once I was sober, a lot of the health problems I'd been dealing with became much harder to ignore.
• February 2026: After three hospitalizations for gallbladder attacks, I was finally referred to surgery & began the process of proving that yes, something really was wrong. My anemia had also returned after being stable for a bit.
• April 2026: My gallbladder had reached the point that it needed to come out. I won't go into details, but three days before surgery I also miscarried a pregnancy I hadn't previously known about. I didn't tell my surgeon because I was terrified it would delay the surgery, which I know now I absolutely should have done. I was in severe pain, though. The surgery itself ended up being more complicated than they expected.
• June 2026: I was still struggling & many of my concerns were being attributed to my protein intake by my sleeve surgeon. Meanwhile, I was dealing with intense fatigue, muscle weakness, headaches, pain & other symptoms, while testing began showing hormonal abnormalities.
• July 2026: Back in the hospital, this time with lung concerns. Imaging showed haziness & that my lungs weren't expanding properly, pneumonia testing was negative, & I was told to follow up with pulmonology. I was also still anemic despite taking iron supplements that had been prescribed.
• August 2026: Finally found a new family doctor who started taking a broader look at everything. Now I have referrals to pulmonology, immunology & neurology, extensive bloodwork being done, worsening hormonal fluctuations with some low results, & discussions about possible hormone treatment & iron infusions.
Now we're here 😂 Now locked in a waiting game.
Between every single one of those events? I have tried to get back up. I've tried to work. I've tried to rebuild Godly Glow. I've made plans, gotten excited, started feeling like myself again, & genuinely believed, "I'm finally getting my life back." & then something else was piled on.
THAT'S why I talk about my health. Not because I enjoy being sick. Not because I want sympathy or pity. Nobody is more tired of hearing about my health than I am tired of living it.
Godly Glow has especially been hard for me. Something I beat my own self up over every single day. Because I've announced plans & dates & gotten excited about coming back, only to have to step away again. I know from the outside that looks inconsistent. I hate that my body hasn't cooperated with the timeline I've wanted.
Buuuut. I'm here. I'm still fighting. I'm still praying. I'm still working toward getting my health under control, getting back to work, & getting Godly Glow back on its feet. It's not fitting my timeline, but even on the worst days, I refuse to give up.
So ANYWAYS. Yeah 😅 That's my overshare for the day 😂🩷 Thank you for being here!
