13th & Bloom Urban Garden

A little gratitude, beautifully arranged. 💐💕

Today I had the pleasure of creating these sweet thank-you arrangements, filled with flowers grown right here in our Des Moines urban garden.

From the bold dahlias to the delicate lisianthus and playful textures, every stem was chosen with intention.

Because sometimes the most beautiful way to say thank you is with flowers. 🌸

Swipe to appreciate all the little details! ✨

This isn’t a hobby. The dahlias have consumed my entire life. 😂🌸

We’re DESIGNING A WEDDING this weekend, so this week’s mission has been:

PROTECT. THE. BLOOMS. 🫡

We don’t spray our dahlias for pests, so every promising bloom is getting its own little organza security system. 😂 The bags help protect them from hungry bugs while allowing us to continue growing beautiful, pesticide-free flowers for our customers.

So yes, I am currently walking around the garden individually bagging flowers and checking on them multiple times a day.

A hobby is something you do on the side. This has consumed my entire life. 💀🌸

My therapist’s name is Dahlia 🌸😂

And lately, she’s been working overtime.

The dahlias are THRIVING, I’m having way too much fun exploring different colors and varieties, and somehow every new bloom becomes my new favorite.

This is the kind of therapy I can’t get enough of. 💕🌸

If you don’t take Dahlia selfies… do you really love your dahlias? 🤣🌸📸

Because apparently admiring them in the garden isn’t enough—I need photographic evidence of our relationship. 😂

And just like that, our farmers market season has come to an end. 🥹💐

We could not be more thankful for every single person who came to shop, stopped by to visit, returned week after week, or discovered us for the first time. To our customers, friends, and family—thank you for supporting this little flower dream of ours. 🩷

One of the most unexpected gifts of this season was the wonderful connections we made with our fellow vendors. Some of those connections have turned into friendships we know will last far beyond market season.

And to the Valley Junction Farmers Market staff—we could not be more grateful for you! The market was so well run, you were always available when we needed you, and the organization and care you put into each week truly mattered. Thank you for welcoming us back and giving us another wonderful season. 🌸

We already can’t wait to return next year!

Until then, keep following our journey online because the flowers aren’t done blooming just yet. 🌺 And soon we’ll have tulip bulbs available for sale… because apparently I’m already planning for spring. 😂🌷

Thank you for another beautiful season, flower friends. 🩷
