My mom was a class act on and off the opera stage, a real life superheroine, and a woman who continues to inspire me from her starlit perch up in the cosmos.

So much of what Over Yonder is and does is a reflection of - and tribute to - her. Her discerning taste, her love of color and whimsy, her curiosity, her goodness, her appreciation of creativity and craft.

Now that she's gone, Mother's Day is a complicated occasion for me. But helping so many of you find special gifts for your own special moms was truly a joy and an opportunity for me to celebrate the bigger meaning of the day: love.

As we approach Mother's Day, we wanted to Introduce this family of exquisite palm sculptures from .es , a Latin American design studio based in the heart of Oaxaca, Mexico.

Handwoven with natural palm leaves by artisans from Tlamacazapa, Guerrero, these baskets are a masterful blend of traditional craft and modern design. They also represent the humanity and love at the core of all creative expression.
