They've pushed back the announcement day of final winner until Tues., June 16, so EA is still in the running for the #1 national spot.

Click on the link below, and you should come to a page "America's Favorite Small Towns: Meet the Regional Winners 2026."

Scroll down that page (you'll see the East Aurora write up) and when you pass Rayne, Louisiana, you'll see a box to vote entitled Which Small Town Should Win?" Vote for EA and you're good to go!

East Aurora has been named as one of two Northeast regional alongside Montpelier, Vt., in PARADE Magazine’s America’s Favorite Small Towns competition. And EA is officially a finalist for the national title!

Featured in PARADE’s latest issue, East Aurora is recognized for the history, charm, and experiences that make it such a special place to visit, including the Roycroft Campus, Vidler’s 5 & 10, the Aurora Theatre, and so much more.
Thank you to everyone who helped support East Aurora throughout the voting process. We’ll be cheering it on when the national winner is announced on June 12!

As much as we like being known as a destination store, we love being the hometown five & ten for the kids growing up here.

This past Friday morning a preschool had "Vidler's Day" as their field trip. Their teacher said many wanted to wear red to stay on brand with our color scheme -- we appreciate it!

And on Friday night, our Vidler's Phillies had their annual rivalry game against the Andrews Barber Parlor Rangers. A spirited contest with both sides playing some good ball, as we were led by our game MVP, Nico Hernandez.

Kids and Vidler's -- a good combo for over 90 years!

Five & Dimers across the USA!

Summer tour buses are starting to come through, and last week we had 3 from Florida, Tennessee and Indiana, respectively. Great folks on all three coaches and of interest to us was their enthusiasm and mention of other independent, family owned 5 & 10s. In particular Dick's 5 & 10 Miller's 5&10 all came up in conversation. We've visited and compared notes with Dick's and Emery -- still need to make that road trip to Miller's!

About 200 years of history in 40 square feet... We've had a lot of historic plaques, commemorations, items and letters sprinkled throughout our buildings over the years. And we've tried to consolidate most of them in our small-ish 'history' window in the front of the store. If you haven't seen it before, check it out. A lot of good trivia in there!

In remembrance of all who served and sacrificed, we will not be open on Memorial Day, May 25.
