My clients had been on the hunt for the perfect buffet for their cottage, and she finally found this one.. with the most stunning fluted accents and beautifully turned legs. 🤍 She reached out to me to have it refinished to perfectly complement their dining room, and I absolutely love how it came together. Welcome everyone! Today officially marks Skiba Designs’ one year anniversary! On this day last year, I sold my first piece and created my first instagram post. I figured there’s no better time to finally introduce myself to all of my fellow refinishers, friends, loyal customers, and all the new faces joining me on this platform.🧺🤍

My name is Natalie, I’m 23 and what started as a hobby has now grown into a full-time furniture refinishing business here in the suburbs of Chicago. Although I still have so much to learn, I take pride in creating long lasting, professional finishes while sourcing high quality furniture that’s built to last for years.

A little about me:
I’ve been with my husband and best friend for almost six years now, married for 3.5, and we’re blessed with a toddler who is our bundle of joy. I originally started refinishing furniture as a creative outlet while staying home with our daughter, but as we’re getting closer to buying our first home, this business has become such a blessing for our family. My husband has been my biggest supporter from the very beginning. He’s the muscles behind all the heavy lifting, the owner of the truck lol, and the person who’s always willing to help whenever I need him. I truly couldn’t have done this without him, and he deserves so much credit for the countless hours he’s invested alongside me.

Above all, I give all the glory to Jesus. The Lord has blessed us with a growing business that has allowed me to stay home with our daughter while pursuing something I genuinely love.

I haven’t refinished a single dresser in a long time. A client had purchased nightstands earlier in July, and she also wanted a dresser. Even though they aren’t matching pieces, everything is solid wood, refinished in the same color with the antique brass k***s. My husband said this was one of his favorites🤍

My second time working on these pieces. A client had reached out to us looking for a bedroom set, but we only had nightstands in stock. She agreed to purchase the nightstands alone and buy a dresser at a later time when we added one to the inventory. Whether the same set or mismatched, pieces can be refinished in the same color and hardware. Thank you Kirsten for trusting in us! 🤍
