There is something so special about planting an acorn and dreaming of the beautiful oak tree it might one day become. 🌳🤎

You plant it knowing you may not be around to enjoy all the shade it will one day provide. You water it, protect it, and give it room to grow, trusting that the little things you do today will matter in the years to come.

Isn’t that a beautiful reminder of life? So much of what we plant today won’t bear fruit tomorrow. The seeds of faith, the time we invest in our children, the kindness we show others, and the little acts of obedience that no one else sees may take years to grow into something beautiful.

Keep planting, friends. Keep believing. Keep doing the good things, even when you can’t yet see what they’ll become. 🌱

It’s been a long six months around here! ❤️

If you’re new here, or if it’s been a while and you don’t remember me, I’m Amy! I’ve been married for 18 years, I’m a homeschooling mama to six, a caregiver to my wonderful dad, and we’re learning to navigate life with alpha-gal syndrome. We also call a little homestead in Missouri home. 🌿

Life has knocked us around a bit this year. We’ve walked through some hard seasons, faced unexpected changes, and had to learn a whole new way of doing life. But we’re still here, choosing joy, finding the blessings in the little things, and learning how to rise again.

I’m so glad you’re here! My hope is that this little corner of the internet becomes a place where you can find encouragement, joy, and a little fellowship along the way.

🍂 Fall is here, and if your hands look like mine, you might be processing a batch of black walnuts!

These little beauties are delicious for snacking and adding to all those cozy fall baked goods. But that’s not the only reason I look forward to black walnut season! 🌰

This is also the time of year I start a batch of black walnut hull tincture. Black walnut has a long history in traditional herbalism, where the hulls have been used for their traditional antiparasitic properties, as well as topical preparations for fungal skin conditions like ringworm.

There’s something special about gathering what the land provides and preserving a little of that seasonal goodness for later. A little work now, a little preparation for the months ahead, and a reminder that the homestead never really rests! 🍁

I’ve heard so many horror stories about raising teenagers, but I honestly can’t even tell you how much I’m enjoying this season of motherhood. Does it bring its own stress? Absolutely! But it also comes with so many beautiful blessings.

So take your time with your babies. Learn to play with your toddlers and your grade-school kids. Treasure every little hand held, every boo-boo kissed, and every snuggle.

And as they grow, become their biggest cheerleaders. Celebrate their milestones, encourage their dreams, and enjoy watching them become the people they were created to be.

Because one day, you’ll blink, and the little hands you once held will be reaching for the car keys. 🥹

Don’t spend so much time wishing for the next season that you miss the beauty of the one you’re in. Every season has its challenges, but every season holds blessings worth cherishing. ❤️

Just as the trees change with the seasons, so do we. Some seasons are for planting, some for growing, some for letting go, and some for beginning again. May we have the faith to trust YHWH in every season and the courage to embrace what He has ahead. 🍂

Penny is quite possibly the best dog on the planet. The little boys were put playing near the road so of course Penny was right there keeping watch over them. And that's how she always is. She's such a sweet girl but if anyone she doesn't know comes around she's on high alert keeping everyone safe. 🥹❤️
