I had the opportunity to connect with Rachel at Dude DeWalt Cellars during an event at Olive & Vyne this last week.

And let me tell you—she's the kind of person who makes you feel like an old friend within the first five minutes of meeting her.

I have a soft spot for people who pour their hearts into what they do (pun absolutely intended 🍷), and it's easy to see the passion behind what Rachel is building.

Now, I'm not claiming to be a wine expert. My qualifications pretty much stop at "Yep, I'd drink that again." 😂 But the wine was fantastic, the atmosphere was welcoming, and it's exactly the kind of local business I love supporting.

Interrupting your newsfeed full of filtered faces with my very real one.

No makeup. No fancy lighting. No editing.
Just me.

This past year has stretched me in ways I never expected.

I lost a career I spent 10 years building. I started a business from scratch with my sister. Battled postpartum depression. Learned how to bet on myself when it would've been easier to play it safe.

And somewhere in the middle of all that...I’ve lost 100 pounds.

People see the number and assume that's the hard part.

It wasn't.

The hard part was rebuilding my confidence. Learning who I was outside of a corporate title. Showing up on social media when I felt like hiding. Walking into networking events convinced I didn't belong there. Starting over at 32.

When I look in the mirror, I still see things I'd like to change.

But I also see resilience. I see growth. I see a woman who kept going when life got messy.

So today I'm sharing my bare face.

Not because my skin is perfect. Not because I've got it all figured out.

But because after years of struggling with my skin, my hormones, my confidence, and my health, I finally feel comfortable showing up exactly as I am.

This is what real looks like.

And honestly?

I'm pretty proud of her.

We mean it when we say we're family-owned.

Yesterday, we had a long list of things we could have done for the business.

Orders to pack. Labels to print. Inventory to make. Emails to answer.

Instead, we took the day off and went to the pool with our kids. ☀️💦

Because while we're incredibly proud of what we're building with Two Sisters Tallow, we started this journey for a reason.

For more flexibility. For more family time. For more moments that don't fit neatly onto a to-do list.

The business will be here tomorrow.

The little voices asking us to jump in the pool won't stay little forever.

So we soaked up the sunshine, made memories, and reminded ourselves why we're working so hard in the first place.

Today it's back to making tallow.

But yesterday belonged to our families. 💚

💚 FROM OUR HANDS TO YOUR HOMES 💚

Hi, we're Megan and Kelsea — the sisters behind Two Sisters Tallow.

Since we've somehow convinced people to buy skincare made from beef fat, we figured we should probably introduce ourselves.

What started as two Idaho sisters experimenting with traditional skincare has somehow turned into a real business. (A business that now involves thousands of pounds of tallow, more jars than we'd like to count, and an alarming amount of time spent peeling labels.)

We grew up with strong Idaho roots, an appreciation for hard work, and the belief that simple is usually better. After becoming frustrated with ingredient labels that looked more like science experiments, we started exploring old-fashioned skincare made with ingredients we could actually recognize.

Fast forward to today and every jar is still made by us.

We source it. We render it. We purify it. We whip it. We label it. We package it. And occasionally we question our life choices while doing it. 😂

We believe skincare doesn't have to be complicated.

We believe in transparency, quality ingredients, and products we're proud to use on ourselves and our families.

We're proud to be BBB Accredited, Buy Idaho Members, and a small family-owned business built from the ground up by two sisters who had no idea what they were getting themselves into.

Thank you to everyone who has continued to reach out, offer support, and lend a helping hand during this particularly crazy year. We are surrounded by the most loving, kind, and generous community, and for that, we could not be more grateful. It's me, Morgan, and I'll be working through emails and messages as quickly as I can over the coming days. Thank you for your patience.

As of now, we plan to open the family farm stand on July 25, and the first week of Wissel Veggie Club boxes will begin the week of July 27. If anything changes, I'll be sure to keep everyone updated.

More than anything, thank you. Thank you for this life, for our family farm, for my mommy and daddy, and for this incredible community that continues to carry us through both the beautiful and unique seasons.

As the warmer months approach, here's a quick reminder that tallow is temperature sensitive. If you leave your whipped tallow in a hot car, it will melt. Don't worry—it hasn't gone bad and there's no need to throw it out! The only thing that changes is the texture. Instead of a light, whipped consistency, it may become a thicker balm. You'll still get all the same skin-loving benefits—just in a different form.
