We know what it’s like to struggle with figuring out how to create a beautiful home—with time, knowledge and budget constraints! We believe with the right inspiration and a little insider info, everyone can create beautiful interiors that don’t scream: “Hey, I’m from page 54 of catalog X.”

use we wanted to make interior design approachable and accessible. Together, we offer two different perspectives that we hope will encourage you to think about new possibilities for your home. And because we’re both moms living in the Chicago area, we’ll be sure to feature lots of great local and family-friendly finds.

A little corner of a full-house makeover we’ve been working on for the last year. This client wanted to brighten things up but add a little drama and show off their art collection so we played with color and texture. Different than most of our projects but so fun to work on.

Swipe for before. Our client is a travel agent who has been in some of the world’s most beautiful bathrooms. When it came to decorating her own new home, a dramatic powder room was a priority. We used the existing lighting as inspiration for the rest of the space. After waiting 8 months for the brass plumbing it is finally installed in all its beauty! Love the reflection in the amazing onyx mirror.

This week while doing a site visit for a nursery project, our client showed us a blank wall in her upstairs hallway and a pile of old pictures and frames. A quick trip to Target for some new frames to add to the mix of their own ones and two hours later we had an affordable but really special family gallery wall. We got the frames, hung them and provided instructions for what pictures and mattes needed to be changed out. We know so many of you would love to have a wall of family pics but don’t know how to get there...we promise it’s not hard and we can easily take it on for you!

This is a stairway going to a fabulous new basement renovation we’re just completing with a favorite repeat client. Wait until you see all the fun details we’ve woven throughout this space. These tiled steps and glass railing are just the beginning!

We join others in the design community to silence our social media accounts in the hopes that other more important voices will and heard. We may be online, but we will be far from silent in person.

Swipe for the before! We love a client who is willing to play with pattern and texture. For this family we reupholstered her grandmother’s wingback chairs and designed dining-height custom stools in a performance fabric to pair with them (perfect for their two young children!) An oversized pendant light is a statement piece and makes the room cozy while a durable herringbone poly rug defines the space.

Essentials of a good entry? A beautiful, durable rug, a good scale entry table with storage, a lamp to welcome you, some fresh greenery and a mirror for a quick glance before you rush out (or stay in as it may be!) 📷

A good faucet in the kitchen is like finding the perfect pair of earrings for your favorite outfit. We love the soft brown undertones of polished nickel which pairs beautifully with brass cabinet hardware. Don’t be scared to mix metals!
