It is such an honor anytime I am asked to make something meaningful for someone, but being involved in someone’s wedding is a special privilege for me.

I prayed over every single knot while I made this for my dear friends’ wedding. More than 16 hours of speaking love and blessings over every strand and knot went into this piece. What a beautiful experience and an even more beautiful wedding.

Y’all, when I did this, it was farrrrrrr outside of my skill level but I had no idea of that at the time. I had the know how, but the skill was not there. Neither were the artistic photography skills apparently 😅 looking at this now, I can see that true stubborn determination and grit was the ONLY reason this project got finished.

The number of hours that I sat on the floor tying and untying ropes and retying them haunts me. I am so proud of the girl who did what should have been impossible for her at that time. 💛

This project will forever be one of the reminders of how powerful persistence is for me. I would love to do it again with the knowledge and skills that I have now and see the differences 🤔

I’ve been quiet for a while due to moving and school starting up again but to be honest, I’ve been feeling creatively empty.

I was often standing and staring blankly at my chording and driftwood, begging inspiration to hit me. An obligation with a deadline forced me to get moving regardless of my feelings. I am so grateful that this one really reignited that flame for me. I moved outside of my regular - bright light images and soft colors - to a more moody vibe and I am in LOVE 😍

Get ready for a new collection of moody/darker colors until something else resonates with me 😅

My key takeaway from all of this is: Get started anyway!

This is by far one of my favorite pieces I’ve ever made 🥰 I think what makes this one so special is the intricate weaving techniques and the detailing throughout each section. She sizes in at almost 4.5 feet wide and over 5 feet long. (Me for size 🤣) I can’t wait to see her hung up in her forever home!
