The sheer craftsmanship it took to install this floor over 100 years ago was all the motivation we needed to bring this floor back to life! It was a 5/16" thick floor originally, but had been sanded once or twice already and was almost at the point where a decision had to be made to try to save it, or tear it out and replace it. I think we made the right choice!

Because of its fragile state, we decided to coat it with oil based polyurethane instead of our standard water based. Oil based finish kept it from curling up and swelling the tiny pieces of flooring and the thin edges.

Such a fun project! Thank you to our wonderful customers for waiting on us for 8 months to get to this project!
