An absolutely magical weekend at the Growing Kindness™ Movement Nonprofit retreat. There are no words to describe what spending time with like-minded flower people does for your soul. Our founder, Deanna Kitchen, shares her farm, her heart and creates a space filled with love and a safe place for vulnerability (and a lot of tears). There were so many beautiful connections with friends old & new, a design class with the amazing Alicia of 𝙵𝚕𝚒𝚛𝚝𝚢 𝙵𝚕𝚎𝚞𝚛𝚜 | 𝙰𝚕𝚒𝚌𝚒𝚊 𝚂𝚌𝚑𝚠𝚎𝚍𝚎, gifting our bouquets to a senior community and farm tours with Molly, Melissa Brown | Bee Merry Farm, Our Legacy Fields Lavender, Rooted official filled the days. Thank you all for your time and sharing your inspiring spaces & flower journeys. Also a huge shout out to Marryn Marryn Mathis who gave us a private tour as part of our stay at her thegardengetaway.wa (which is even better than the pictures). Totally not ready to get back to reality yet.

In honor of National Dog Day - this is Jules! She’s my constant companion in the garden, #1 whole digger and could teach masterclasses in zoomies & fence jumping. Sweet, energetic, goofy and a bit of chaos that I couldn’t live without!

She came up from Texas via Three Little Pitties Rescue.

I’m typically all about the raspberry tones, pinks & purples - but lately I’m feeling called to these sunset tones. Made this arrangement for myself. It’s a little bit of everything :)

There doesn’t always have to be a reason. Give flowers on a random Wednesday. Show someone you see them and appreciate them. You never know how a small act might change someone’s day!

New dahlias greeting me everyday. My field is still only about 25% in bloom. Everything in its own time.

This season has been rough in MANY ways, personally and in the garden. The transition of today’s eclipse and the energy it brings is encouraging us all to let go what no longer serves us. Take a minute to honor you today! 😊

KA’s Rose Quartz (2026 release) by Kristine Albrecht - Dahlias

The first round of blooms on this dahlia had very little back petal color (more like the front bloom). I’m happy to see her coming around! This has been a weird summer with lots of temperature waves - which I’m sure are playing into the color differential I’m seeing in so many of my dahlias!

Today marks the debut of the new flower cart (a potting station). All tubers are $3(mystery), $5 or $10 sprouted up and ready to plant! With deals this good you know you have room for one more! 😉 Inventory will change weekly as I plant out myself! Stand will be open 10-6 Saturday & Sunday for the next 2 weeks. After that, we will see what’s left! Let me know if you are interested in seeing flower starts on the stand as well.
