When you buy from a handcrafter, you are supporting a dream, not just a paycheck. The thing about handmade items is there are blood, sweat and tears put into making them... but also love and joy. Small business owners that make and sell their crafts, they care about the quality of their products. They want every piece that goes out to bring a smile to the customers face, and they want that smile to last. Buying decor from a big store, those items are made by people who care about a paycheck (no judgements). They aren't putting everything they have into the quality of the product. Yes my prices might be a bit more expensive, but that's because I'm not buying in huge bulk because I also would rather everyone have a different piece of me, instead of all the same thing.... my stitching might not be perfect, but every stitch is reinforced and was done by my hands to insure that you can enjoy the product for years to come.
