Here is the new back room at my store!!
Stained glass is now upstairs!! 🤩

What does this mean?
Easier access. Prettier space 😁. I can create during the days. AND I'm going to open this room up to...
OPEN STUDIO!!!
There will be more varying classes. Shorter classes.
Multiple part classes. And a system in place for clients to work independently on their time.
All of those details and that information will be set up soon. I just couldn't wait to show you what I did! 😁

And thanks to my husband and kiddos for helping me and putting up with my ever changing and evolving ideas. And thanks to my sweet friend Erica for helping me finish the closet, shelves and organizing glass. 🥰

Last month I had a fantastically fun private stained glass class!
This group of ladies are in a book club and one of the girls arranged this class to make a book theme suncatcher.
She gave me the theme, but left the design up to me, and I had to come up with something fairly easy for beginners. So this was my design. I also created one myself along with them. And because of them I am now reading the book! They all knocked this project out of the park!

I forgot I didn't post this! 🤦‍♀️
I made it as an art challenge for one of my art group meetings. Theme was "Vacation". So this represents the ocean and being Larimar, which only comes from Domincan Republic, this whole pendant represents my trip to Punta Cana back in April. 🌊
I didn't win the challenge, but that's ok...I ended up with a beautiful pendant! 🤗

I got some Mood Stones!
I know they're man made, and I usually only work with Mother Nature's materials, but I couldn't pass these up.
I'm so excited!! 🤩

Now, to actually get work done at my bench 🙃 😑 😅

I NEED to prepare for the Midwest Metalsmiths Art Show again in October, so I will be making new things for that. It's just trying to balance everything and wearing ALL the hats. 🤨

My jewelry is up at Arnold Rec Center for the month of July. The Jefferson County Art Guild has 4 members displaying there this month. In the case with me is a wonderful pottery artist - Jill Thompson. And on the walls are Linda Abernathy and Nancy Reimler.

I have finished all the projects I started!!
There's time this morning to start another, today is our last day. 🥺 I might make another, but I'm afraid I won't finish before lunch and clean up. I don't want to go home with a oartial project that I have no machines to finish it. But I also don't want to hold myself back from doing more...decisions, decisions.
But anyways, more or not, here's what was done by

Day 1 at the machines: My first 3 cabs (cabochons).

I still have to polish #2. It had a crack, so we had a lesson, at the end of class, on how to fix it. So today I'll polish it.
I'll also get better pics of all my stones at the end...the lighting wasn't the greatest!

I joined in on a maker's challenge within my metalsmiths group. We were sent a random numbered bag of random costume jewelry. We can make at least one, but as many as we want, new pieces of jewelry. I have already created my pieces (I made them within 4 days day! Lol). But here's the kicker, the next meeting isn't until July 19th. 😬
So now, since I have my own anticipation I'm giving you all the anticipation as well. 🤣
