Four pieces = a whole lot of prep.

The old hardware went straight in the garbage, and we got to work degreasing, deglossing, scuff sanding, and priming this bedroom set.

This is the part that takes time without giving you that pretty reveal just yet. But seeing everything in primer makes me so excited for what’s coming next!

A lighter finish made all the difference.

This end table started with a dark finish that made those pretty curves easy to overlook. We gave it a warmer, lighter look and replaced the hardware with something that feels more current while still fitting its vintage style.

And my favorite part? The sides flip up when you need extra table space, then tuck back down to keep it compact. Pretty and practical.

This vanity turned end tables sold in less than a day on FBMP. This is why I like to find these old clunky vanities that no one wants and give them new life as some very sought after end tables.

A matching pair of end tables is always a quick seller and this paint combo is also a quick seller in my area.

Wait until you see the hidden desk. 👀

This piece has a little of everything: dresser storage, curved bookshelves, and a secretary desk that folds away when you’re done.

We gave it a fresh look with Sherwin-Williams Gallery Series in Shiitake, the perfect warm neutral, plus pole wrap on the sides and brand-new hardware. Paired with the wood top, those details bring so much warmth and texture.

The outside of the shed is finally painted! Next, we’ll stain and install the trim. Then it’s back inside to sand the Sheetrock mud and put pine boards on the ceiling.

We usually only get a few hours to work on it at a time, so every finished step feels like a big deal. We’re getting so close to the fun part: making it feel like a cozy little guest house. 🤍

Instead of refinishing this old vanity as-is, we’re turning the two drawer sections into a matching pair of nightstands.

So far, we have carefully taken everything apart, sanded both sections, and repaired the cracks. We’re still firmly in the “trust the process” stage, but I think these are going to be good.

Ok, here they are:

• a vision
• a few power tools
• and an unreasonable amount of confidence. 😂

We didn’t have every step mapped out before starting this shed makeover. We just knew what we wanted it to become, so we picked a place to begin and figured out each new step when we got there.

Have we done everything “by the book”? Probably not.

Have we made mistakes? Absolutely.

But we figure out how to fix them, and keep going.

That’s the part of DIY people don’t always show. You don’t need to know how to complete the entire project before you begin. You just need to be willing to learn, adjust, and not let one mistake convince you to quit.

This little shed is getting closer to the vision, one imperfect step at a time.
