𝙑𝙄𝙉𝙏𝘼𝙂𝙀 𝙤𝙧 𝘼𝙉𝙏𝙄𝙌𝙐𝙀? 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙖 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 📖🤎

I thought these two Bibles would be the perfect way to show you something that often gets confused when we’re talking about old treasures!

The beautiful black-and-gold Bible on the left dates back to 1855. That’s 171 years old! Just think about that for a moment. This book was printed before the American Civil War!

The white Bible on the right dates to 1952, making it 74 years old.

So what’s the difference?

🤎 ANTIQUE: Generally, an item that’s at least 100 years old.

🤍 VINTAGE: An older item associated with a particular era that hasn’t yet reached antique status. There’s no single universally accepted age requirement for vintage.

And here’s something that makes me laugh. The 1990s are now considered vintage by plenty of collectors. THE 90s!! Wasn’t that just yesterday?! 😂

I love both of these Bibles for different reasons. There’s something incredible about holding a book that’s been around for 171 years and imagining how many people may have turned its pages.

But whether something is 30 years old or 130 years old, I think it’s the stories and memories behind these pieces that make them truly special.

Now I’m curious! Do you have an antique or vintage Bible that’s been passed down through your family? Or maybe another treasured family heirloom? I’d love to hear its story! 🤎

✨ With so many new faces here lately, I thought it was time to introduce myself again! ✨

Hi, I’m Molly, the face behind Found by Molly! 🤎

I’ve always loved the thrill of finding something beautiful where it’s least expected. A forgotten lamp, a stack of well-loved books, or a piece of pottery that reminds me of my great-grandmother’s kitchen.

There’s just something special about old things. The history, the character, and the memories they bring back. Sometimes I’ll pick something up while thrifting, and suddenly I’m transported right back to my childhood. I love that something as simple as an old bowl or teapot can hold so much meaning.

What started as a love for thrifting and decorating my own home eventually grew into Found by Molly, where I get to share that passion with others. My style leans toward classic, cozy, and timeless, with a little English cottage charm mixed in. I love creating spaces that feel collected over time rather than decorated all at once.

Around here, you’ll find me wandering through thrift stores, sharing my latest discoveries, styling vintage treasures, and occasionally digging into the history behind something I’ve found. And, of course, there will always be a little nostalgia along the way!

I’m also incredibly excited to have my own little booth inside The Lazy Daisy- Fredericksburg, located in Central Park in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where you can shop many of the treasures I find. 🏡

But one of my favorite things about starting this page has been hearing YOUR stories. When I share something that reminds me of my childhood, so many of you share memories of your own parents, grandparents, and the homes you grew up in. I absolutely love reading those comments. It’s a reminder that these old treasures are so much more than just things.

So whether you’re here because you love thrifting, decorating with vintage pieces, hunting for something special, or simply reminiscing about days gone by, I’m so glad you found me! 🤎

And since we’re getting to know each other, I’d love to ask you something…

What’s one thing you remember from your grandparents’ home that you wish you still had today? I’d love to hear your memories! 🥰

While thrifting in Maryland, I came across two beautiful vintage 𝑯𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒂 dishes. Just TWO days later, in an entirely different state, I spotted this gorgeous Hall teapot!

Same manufacturer, an exact color match, and somehow they found their way back together after who knows how many years! These are the little moments that make the hunt so much fun! 🤎

Have you ever had a thrifting coincidence like this?

GRAB or PASS? 🛒👀

I spotted this piece while out thrifting and the character immediately caught my eye 🤎

Be honest… are you taking this one home with you or leaving it on the shelf?

𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝗸𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻? 🤍

I came across these old milk glass nesting bowls while thrifting, and I was instantly transported back to my great-grandparents’ house.

I can still picture my grandma in the kitchen, always whipping up something homemade. It’s funny how something as simple as an old mixing bowl can bring back memories you haven’t thought about in years.

That’s one of my favorite things about thrifting. Sometimes you find more than just an old piece of glassware. You find a little piece of your childhood. 🤎

Did your grandmother or great-grandmother have bowls like these? And what was that one thing she made that you’ll never forget?

I would absolutely love to hear your memories. 🍂

💚 A little piece of 1970s nostalgia!

Look what I spotted while thrifting today! This vintage Pyrex “Drinkups” cup, also known as a “Roly Poly,” is such a fun example of mid-century design!

It features a removable glass insert nestled inside an avocado-green plastic holder. And really, what color says 1970s more than avocado green?! 😍

Did anyone grow up with these in their kitchen? I’d love to hear your memories!

You know I couldn’t come to Maryland for a week or two and NOT go thrifting! 😂

I stopped into Habitat for Humanity in LaVale, Maryland and OH MY GOODNESS. I don’t think I’ve ever been in one this big or this packed! There was so much to look through, and I could’ve spent hours digging around.

Needless to say, a few goodies came home with me 🤎 I definitely plan on making another trip before heading back to Virginia!

Which find would you have grabbed first? 👀

This one stopped me in my tracks. 😳

You know that feeling when you’re casually walking down the thrift store aisle and then suddenly… WAIT. 👀

The portrait. The frame. The age and character.

Be honest… are you grabbing her or leaving her behind?

There’s just something about a home that looks collected over time. 🤎

Old books, worn wood, brass, copper, baskets… pieces that don’t necessarily match, but somehow belong together.

I’ll take a room filled with age, character, and history over something perfectly new any day. Maybe that’s why I love the hunt so much. ✨

Which space in this reel would you want to walk right into?

A few little snippets from restocking the booth 🍂🤎 I’ve been tucking in some new vintage finds, cozy fall touches, old books, pottery, baskets and all the little things that make a space feel collected over time. I love seeing it all come together.

Which little vignette is your favorite? 🤎
