Last day of Design Camp in Austin, and last day away from my people.

Four days of learning, growing, and being challenged in the best possible way. I cannot wait to get home and implement everything — to show up even better for our clients and push Chambers + Co to new creative heights.

And I could not have done it without Jonathan holding everything together at home with our seven kids! My heart is full and I am so grateful for this experience!

Our Southwell project phase two is complete!

We started phase one, a full kitchen renovation, over 2 years ago. Last month we finished phase two, the living and dining room.

This family trusted us with their home once before. And when phase two was ready there was no question who they were calling. That alone means everything to us.

After we left on reveal day they sent us this:

“I knew I trusted you and I knew you wouldn’t steer us wrong. I cannot describe the feeling in our home right now. It’s elevated but cozy. And grand but so welcoming.”

Two phases down. Phase three on the horizon. And a family we are honored to keep showing up for.

I will be in Austin all week at Design Camp — a strategic business retreat for interior designers and I am beyond excited to be here. Site visits are one of the most important parts of full-service design.

We are not just stopping by to check on things. We are on your job site with a plan, catching problems before they become an expensive fix, answering questions before they cause delays, and making sure that what is being built actually matches what was designed.

New builds and renovations RARELY (emphasis on rarely 🫣) go exactly as planned. Things change. Surprises happen. And when they do, you want someone in that space who knows the design inside and out and can make the right call in real time.

That someone is us.

A site visit is how we advocate for your project and your investment. And trust us, you want us in your corner for that.

Our Southwell clients were not always sure about the vision. Some of the design elements were a stretch and they were honest about that. But they trusted us enough to go there anyway.

After we left on reveal day they sent us this text:

It was such an honor to give some dear friends the home they deserve.

She’s sending follow up texts at 9 p.m. Leaving voicemails that nobody returns. Chasing down deliveries. Trying to make decisions she was never trained to make, while managing her job, her kids, and everything else life is already asking of her. And somehow, she’s supposed to keep the entire project moving. Sound familiar?

This is what building or renovating without a designer feels like.

What you are watching in this video is a conversation you should never have to know how to have. That is the benefit of having a designer in your corner.

Every contractor conversation. Every job site check in. Every question answered and every problem caught before it becomes an expensive mistake.

You should never have to chase anyone down. You should never have to wonder what is happening with your project. And you should never have to walk onto a job site and figure it out alone.
