Some people are simply one of a kind. Dolly Parton was one of them. 💔

What an incredible life she lived — enormously talented, funny, gracious, generous, unapologetically herself, and Southern through and through.

I loved her music, I loved her wit, and I loved the way she never seemed to take herself too seriously. But one of my very favorite Dolly roles will always be Truvy in Steel Magnolias. Maybe because there was something about that character that felt so much like Dolly herself — warm, funny, welcoming, a little sassy, and always ready to make someone feel better.

The world lost a true Southern treasure today.

Rest well, Dolly. You certainly made this world a prettier, kinder and much more colorful place. 🌸
