One thing I’ve realized is that people hear “private party” and automatically picture a huge group.

But some of my favorite candle bar experiences have been much smaller.

For Mother’s Day, I gifted my mom a private candle bar session. It ended up being just me, my mom, and my dad spending a couple of hours together creating candles and making memories.

No birthday.
No shower.
No big event.

Just intentional time together.

If you’ve ever wished you could have the warehouse all to yourself for a girls’ day, mother-daughter outing, date night, family experience, or creative afternoon with a friend, that’s absolutely something we offer. ✨

Hey hey, we are open today!! Twice a month we open up for walk-ins at our warehouse— you can come make something or shop our ready-made products.

I have a helper here with me today! My new sophomore(!) youngest son Simon is here. He takes frequent breaks, but that’s okay that’s what summer is for. I’m just honored he wanted to spend the day with me 🥰 (and earn those new shoes 😉)

Obsessed with my new dress I found thrifting, too! I love to find quirky things, and this felt like GOLD.

I was reflecting in my journal this morning about how much I love this time of year. It brings such a fresh excitement and energy, mixed with that little twinge of sadness that comes at the end of an era…a school year, a season, a chapter of life.

Not a bad sadness, a grateful sadness (do you get those sads too?!). The kind that reminds you something mattered.

We have another graduate in the Zielke household this year, which means somehow we now have two adult children 😭 That feels so bizarre because I still feel like I just graduated myself. :) :)

I was listening to my 90s playlist (the best, obviously), and the lyric from Closing Time came on:
“every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” 💓💥💓

And wow. I’ve always loved that line. It feels so beautiful and true.
I’m grateful for it all: the endings, the beginnings, and all the in-between moments.

And I’m grateful for you 💛

Okay but apparently the ✨Jenni Glow Universe✨ is expanding because now we have Aunt Amy Glow (PERFECT name for her if you know her!)☺️💓

Yesterday I got to visit my Uncle’s class for another reading of Tilly and the Glow Within! (On his last day- happy retirement Uncle Brad!!)

There is just something so magical about reading to kids. The questions, the excitement, the confidence they have when they tell you about THEIR ideas and dreams…it gets me every time. 🥹 Honestly? Tiny humans are my favorite humans. 🤗

This week has held graduation tears, family chaos, funeral hugs, joy, grief, pride, exhaustion…all at once. But making things with meaning in the middle of it all still feels like such a gift.

Okayyyy my heart is absolutely bursting with joy! I got to do the coolest thing this week— visit an elementary school as Jenni Glow our book character!

I read the story with groups of kids, answered all their questions (which were so great!! Ranging from who I married, what my real hair look likes, how old I was when I created our book, to telling me about the books they were going to publish 😭😭) I love kids so much!

And then they all got to go out and meet the real life Tilly the Candle Camper. 😍

It brought me so much joy and I’m pinching myself thinking about the evolution my business has taken. To think my roots are in early childhood, and now I created a candle shop that has become a whimsical children’s story of kindness and bravery…I cannot. It’s all too amazing.

Thank you to the amazing school and teachers for having me! You all are the real mvps! 💓💓💓💓

And thank you to Kira, our author Maya’s mom, for coming with me! You’re the best assistant!
