Daikon is in season! New online class on Jan 16 to learn how to make this classic dim sum favorite: Lo Bak Go, or Steamed Turnip Cake.

Some of my past students called this the most delicious Lo Bak Go they have ever had.🥹

I feel like I have really upped my day-to-day meals since I have been getting my groceries from .

The flavors are amazing without much efforts and I feel better. It's a no brainer.

Do yourself a favor and go get some Asian Vegetables with Jesse at the market today outside from 3-7pm. It's Asian aunties approved for over 30 years experience. Can't make it today? You have two more Thursdays to make it right.

My favorites this season have been their G*i Lan, G*i Choy, Tong Ho, and Baby Bok Choy. They can all be stir-fried with some garlic and Shaohsing rice wine.

So. Good.

Ever want to learn how to make this classic combo from Hong Kong? My all-time favorite Bolobao and HK Milk Tea. The only place in Seattle you get to learn this from a native and fellow "honger" is at Dash of Soy!

Under the expert guidance of Winnie Au, a Hong Kong native and culinary enthusiast, you'll learn the pre-fermentation method to craft mouthwatering milk breads. Shape the dough into two beloved buns: the Famous Bolo Bao (菠蘿包 or Pineapple Bun) and the irresistible Sausage Bun with Cheese and Mayo (腸仔包 or cheong jai bao). Impress your friends with the classic look of the Bolo Bao by mastering the craquelin topping technique. To complete the authentic experience, discover the secrets behind the perfect pairing for these buns—the indulgent Hong Kong Style Milk Tea (港式奶茶 or gong s*k nai cha). To satisfy your sweet tooth, learn the craft of the Easy Sweet Tofu Custard (豆腐花 or dau fu fa), paired with a Versatile Ginger Syrup (薑糖 or goeng tong) you can use for other desserts.

This class runs only a few times a year. Next Saturday June 7 11am is your chance!

Do you have any Gen Z in your life? If you do, one of the best life skills you could give them is to teach them how to cook, or more importantly, to share with them the joy of cooking.

Why joy? Because if you don’t enjoy it, even if you know how to, you will not do it.

This July and August, Chef Mikiko and I are partnering up to offer an exclusive 4-Day Summer Camp for teens (aged 13-17, July 14-17) and kids (aged 8-12, August 4-7), with only 4 students per camp! With 2:1 chef to student ratio, each kid/teen will have the best opportunity to be hands-on, to receive private coaching, and to ask questions.

This year’s menu features the all-time-favorite classes:

Day 1: Homemade Pork Dumplings
Day 2: Host Your Own Sushi Party
Day 3: Homestyle Bento Box
Day 4: Wok Cooking 101

Camps are 4-hour per day, from 10:30am to 2:30pm, Monday to Thursday. $880 per student. Guaranteed leftovers so please bring your own to-go boxes! If your young chef has any dietary requirements, let us know before registering.

Spent $10 and 30 minutes to make a simple "Stir Fried Chicken Thigh and Napa with Sa Cha Cheung" for lunch.

I cooked it without a recipe but here's a quick recipe for your reference:

4 pieces chicken thigh, cubed
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1-inch fresh ginger root
1/4 cup Chinese Shaohsing rice wine
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
pinch ground white pepper
1/4 cup corn starch
2 slices fresh ginger root
half napa cabbage
pinch kosher salt
1 tablespoon Sa Cha Cheung
vegetable oil, for cooking

Marinate the chicken with salt first.
Grate the ginger and squeeze the juice into a small bowl.
Add rice wine and sugar to the ginger juice.
Add marinade to chicken, plus some ground white pepper.
Mix, then add corn starch and mix again.
Let stand while you cut, wash, and drain napa cabbage.
Cut 2 slices of ginger.
In a wok with high heat, add oil, sliced ginger, and napa cabbage with salt.
Cook until slightly wilted. Set aside.
Same wok with high heat, add oil and cook chicken undisturbed until brown.
Flip chicken and cook the other side until cooked.
Add Sa Cha Cheung and napa and stir-fry.
Serve with steamed jasmine rice and enjoy!

Comment "recipe" and I can send this recipe via DM.
