24 hours in Dallas is a problem. There is so much to see and explore at the Dallas Market Center. Inspiration around every corner. I went mostly for lighting and wall coverings but left wanting to go back and discover so much more. Stay tuned for some of my favorite things hitting the design world.

A little lighting inspiration from Dallas Design Week.

Lighting is one of those details that can completely change the feeling of a room. Overhead lighting can be a big distraction or a big add. We’ve all been in a space filled with too bright cool fluorescent lighting that ruined the vibe.

For me, the best lighting doesn’t just illuminate a room. It adds warmth, texture, character, and another layer to the story of a home.

A few ideas I’m excited to bring home and tuck away for just the right project.

More and more, I’m gravitating toward designing for the way we actually live our daily lives.

Homes that feel collected, comfortable, and personal. Not staged or propy (is that a word?)

It’s homey. It’s practical. It’s personal. It’s who we are. We go through a lot of fruit. We grow herbs in the garden that we forget to use. And, of course always a lamp in the kitchen.

Because I think the best homes don’t just look beautiful. They feel like the people who live there.
