A little behind-the-scenes look at a fall sign coming together! 🎃🍂

This pumpkin patch sign features a shiplap-style background, hand-painted orange pumpkins personalized with names, and a wooden “Welcome to Our Pumpkin Patch” embellishment to bring it all together.

I love how adding those little personal touches can turn a piece of fall décor into something special for a family to enjoy year after year!

A big thank you to the women of Grace Church of the Nazarene for inviting me to join you for a fall craft workshop! I had such a wonderful time crafting with you all!

They chose a combination of my block pumpkin kits and block scarecrow kits, and I loved seeing how everyone put their own spin on their projects. It’s always fun to watch the same kit turn into so many different creations as everyone adds their own personal style and makes it their own. 🎃

It’s such a fun time of year in my little workshop! I’m working on everything from Halloween decor to football porch leaners to Christmas pieces, sometimes all in the same day. It’s always fun to see the mix of seasons and styles coming through my orders this time of year.

This football leaner looks right at home posing in my son’s sports-themed bedroom! 🏈

What season are you decorating for right now? Are you still enjoying fall, getting ready for Christmas, or somewhere in between?

A little appreciation post for the people who take the time to leave a review. 🩵

When you support The Kemp Nest, you’re supporting a small, handmade business that I’ve built from home while raising my kids. Every order means a lot, but when someone takes a few extra minutes to come back and leave a review, tell me they love their piece, or share how it looks in their home, I never take for granted.

Reviews help other customers feel confident ordering from a small shop, but they also give me a little boost of encouragement on the busy days when I’m sanding, painting, packing orders and trying to keep up with everything behind the scenes.

These little pieces of feedback are a reminder that the things I’m creating in my little Illinois village are finding their way into homes all over the country, and that will never stop being pretty amazing to me!

Here are just a few from this week! Thank you for supporting The Kemp Nest and for taking the time to let me know how I’m doing.

A huge thank you to the Sinon family for trusting me with such a BIG order!

I’m so grateful for every piece they chose to order from The Kemp Nest and for the opportunity to create so many special pieces for their home. Their order officially shipped out yesterday and is now on its way.

Thank you for supporting my little handmade business in such a big way! 🩵

The first Santa letter of the season is ready to make its way home! 🎅🏻📬

I’m so excited to be shipping out the very first one of these large, personalized Santa letters for 2026. Each one is customized with your family name and city, making it such a fun piece of Christmas magic to display year after year!

Love the look of a porch leaner but don’t have a ton of space? My Mini Leaners are still a full 46” tall, just slightly thinner than my regular leaners!

They’re a great option for:
• Smaller porches, entryways, and apartments
• Easier storage when the seasons change
• A lower price point, making it easier to collect more than one season
• Adding a little seasonal personality without taking up quite as much space

Same tall statement piece, just a little more space-friendly (and budget-friendly!).

I have some listed on my website, but most of my regular designs could be adjusted to a smaller leaner. Just reach out!

17 orders have come in throughout the last week, and seeing all of these pieces lined up on my porch makes me feel so incredibly grateful!

These are all cut, sanded, and ready for their next step this week, and I can’t wait to start bringing each one to life.

As a stay-at-home mom, one of my favorite parts of this business is getting to create from my small town garage workshop and somehow have those creations make their way to homes all across the U.S. It still amazes me that something I make here in my little town can end up in someone’s home hundreds or even thousands of miles away. Thank you for making that possible by supporting my little business!

A quick note for website orders: If you purchase multiple items together, I generally combine them into 1-2 shipments to help keep shipping costs lower for everyone. Because of that, your entire order will typically ship according to the timeframe of the item that takes the longest to complete. I’ll always do my best to get everything finished and on its way as quickly as I can!

Now, time to turn this pile of wood into some customized decor! 🎨🪵

A little fall crafting throwback! 🎃🍂

I shared this tutorial last year showing how to give a simple paper mache pumpkin a beautiful crackled paint finish. It’s such an easy way to add a little extra texture and a vintage, weathered look to your fall décor!
