Why Gilbert? Sun + mental stability.

Most people fleeing New York go straight to Florida.
I hate humidity.
I don’t love Southern food.
I’m not a beach person unless conditions are perfect.
And I will not coexist with palmetto bugs.

I spent 35 years in New York—gray skies, rain, snow, canceled plans, and being trapped in an 800 sq ft apartment pretending that was normal.

I considered California.
Hard pass. Same problems I was escaping.

But I knew one thing:
If I spent one more rainy day stuck inside, I was going to lose my mind.

Moving across the country to start a family—leaving my parents, my husband’s family, everyone we knew—wasn’t taken lightly. We had my grandparents in Gilbert part of the year, and that was it. But it was enough for it to make sense.

Gilbert gave us sunshine, space, parks, pools, and a lifestyle built for family life—not just surviving it.
(And if we miss snow, it’s two hours north.)
