This past week I had the incredible opportunity and honor of being selected nationally to be one of 25 volunteer floral design ambassadors representing in designing for the 113th First Lady’s Luncheon—an experience that inspired me but more importantly, it reminded me why I love what I do. Transforming a room with flowers with the amazing and is never just about what you see—it’s about the feeling it leaves behind which is to please support your local flower farmers or select a local florist that chooses to use American grown flowers!

Despite where you stand politically, I’m so grateful for the trust, the challenge, and the chance to create something truly special on such a meaningful stage.

Moments like this don’t happen by accident—they’re built on years of growth, risk, and a deep love for my craft. Each volunteer/design ambassador at this event sacrificed their time away from their families and businesses this past week to bring awareness to this important mission. Today, 85% of our flowers are imported but it is time to flip that back around so that our American flower and foliage farmers have that majority of the market and we as floral designers have more options to buy wholesale from them.
