Every business has a story, and each week we're sharing a little scoop about one of our Mills County Chamber members. Through The Local Scoop, we're highlighting the entrepreneurs, small business owners and community builders who help make Mills County a great place to live, work, shop and visit.
This week, we're shining a light on Collina Candle Co. β a woman-owned business nestled in the beautiful Loess Hills of southwest Iowa.
Heather and Colleen have built a business centered around craftsmanship, quality and creating scents that turn everyday moments into something special.
Their candles are hand-poured in small batches using luxurious coconut soy wax, cotton-braided wicks, and carefully selected toxin-free, phthalate-free fragrance oils.
Behind every candle is a surprising amount of science, testing, spreadsheets, and dedicationβall to create a clean-burning candle that smells amazing and performs beautifully.
The name πͺππππππ πππππ "ππππ" in Italian, inspired by the Loess Hills we call home and their love of Italian culture. β€οΈ
And no Local Scoop would be complete without recognizing Luca, the company's Chief Quality Control Officer, Treat Inspector and Professional Supervisor. πΎ
At the Mills County Chamber, our work is guided by three core values: Community, Collaboration, and Connection. Businesses like Collina Candle Co. embody those values by supporting local events, fundraisers, fellow small businesses, and the communities they serve.
