πβ€οΈ AN UPDATE, AND A THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS β€οΈπ
We know many of you have been waiting for an update regarding the theft of our donation box.
At this time, we don't have any additional information that we are able to share publicly. As soon as we have an update that can be shared, we will let everyone know.
But there is something we can share right now, and that's just how incredibly grateful we are.
The support from people right here in Rochester and throughout New Hampshire has been incredible. You've donated, shared our story, sent messages, checked on us, offered help, and reminded us just how many wonderful people we have right here at home.
And then something happened that we never expected.
Businesses from outside New Hampshire and across the country began reaching out to Holidays on the Hill.
Businesses that had never heard of us before this happened have contacted us from hundreds and even thousands of miles away. They've offered donations, asked how they could help, and wanted to know what they could do to support the children and families we serve.
We've heard from people and businesses in North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Florida, Alabama, Colorado, Minnesota, California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, and beyond.
We aren't going to start naming individual businesses because the last thing we would ever want to do is accidentally leave someone out. But please know that we see you, we appreciate you, and we will remember your kindness.
There is something incredibly humbling about a business halfway across the country seeing what happened to a small nonprofit in Rochester, New Hampshire, and simply asking, "How can we help?"
For now, we're going to keep doing what we were doing before any of this happened: preparing for Christmas, finding sponsors for local children and seniors, collecting donations, and doing everything we can for the families who are counting on us.
But we need to say this from the bottom of our hearts.

There really aren't words big enough for what the last several days have meant to us.
What happened was discouraging. But what happened afterward is something we will carry with us for a very long time.
Some of you have never met us. Some of you had never even heard of Holidays on the Hill before this happened. And yet you cared.
That has overwhelmed us in the most incredible way.
Every message, every offer, every donation, every share, and every simple "How can we help?" has meant more than we could ever adequately put into a Facebook post.
Holidays on the Hill means everything to us. The children, seniors, and families we serve are the reason behind everything we do. To see so many people, from our own community to communities across the country, stand behind that mission has touched us more deeply than you know.
One person's actions may have been what brought attention to our little organization, but your kindness is what we will remember from all of this.
From all of us at Holidays on the Hill, and with more gratitude than we could possibly put into words, thank you for reminding us just how much good is still out there.
