Today's Spooky Story: The Grim Reaper Picked the Wrong Old Lady! 🤣

Now, y'all know there's some strange stuff that happens out in the country, especially after dark. But this one takes the cake!

There was this little old lady who lived all by herself way out in the sticks.

Every single night, right at midnight, she'd hear somebody knocking on her bedroom door.

KNOCK... KNOCK... KNOCK...

She'd get up, open the door, and wouldn't you know it? Not a soul standing there!

Well, after about a week of this foolishness, she'd had enough!

She grabbed her flashlight, put on her house shoes, and waited.

Sure enough, midnight rolled around.

KNOCK... KNOCK... KNOCK...

She je**ed that door open, ready to give somebody a piece of her mind!

And there stood the GRIM REAPER himself! Black robe, skeleton face, big ol' scythe... the whole nine yards! 💀

He leaned down and whispered in this deep, creepy voice...

"I have come for your soul."

That little old lady looked him straight in the eye, crossed her arms, and said...

"WELL, YOU'RE ABOUT 40 YEARS TOO LATE! MY FIRST HUSBAND ALREADY TOOK THAT, AND HE DIDN'T BRING IT BACK EITHER!" 🤣🤣🤣

The Grim Reaper just stood there.

Then he turned around and left.

Reckon he figured he'd come back when she was in a better mood! 😂

🎃 MORAL OF THE STORY: Even Death knows better than to argue with a stubborn Southern woman!

And if the Grim Reaper comes knocking at MY door, he'd better bring birthday cake, because I ain't going nowhere until I've had my party! 🎂👻

🚐 Sometimes the best part of the journey isn't where you're headed, but who you get to see along the way!

Our travels brought us through Ohio, where we made a special stop at Whitey's in Richfield to catch up with some old friends!

Good food, plenty of laughs, old memories, and the kind of conversations that make you wish time would slow down just a little.

One thing we've learned from life on the road is that miles may separate friends, but the best friendships pick right back up where they left off. ❤️

🎃 17 DAYS UNTIL MY 63RD BIRTHDAY! 👻

🔥 THE WOMAN WHO WASN'T IN THE MIRROR
A Halloween Campfire Story

They say the loneliest roads hold the darkest secrets…

It was nearly midnight when a woman traveling alone pulled into an old roadside motel.

The sign flickered. The parking lot was empty. And the elderly man behind the desk seemed surprised to see her.

"Room 13," he whispered, sliding a rusty key across the counter.

Before she walked away, he grabbed her wrist.

"Whatever you do, don't look in the mirror after midnight."

She laughed. Surely the old man was joking.

The room smelled of dust and old perfume. An antique mirror hung directly across from the bed.

At 12:01 a.m., she heard three soft knocks.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

She checked the door.

Nobody.

Then came the knocks again.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

This time, they came from the mirror.

She slowly turned her head.

Her reflection was standing there.

But she was sitting on the bed.

The woman in the mirror smiled.

She hadn't.

Then the reflection raised one finger to its lips.

"Shhhhh…"

A cold breath brushed against her ear.

And a voice whispered from behind her…

"Don't turn around. She's not the one you should be afraid of."

The next morning, the motel clerk found Room 13 empty.

The bed was neatly made. The door was locked from the inside.

But something had changed.

There were now TWO WOMEN standing in the mirror.

Neither had a reflection in the room.

And both were smiling.

👻 THE END… OR IS IT?

🎂 Born on Halloween in 1963, I've always believed that a good scary story is part of the birthday celebration!

🚐🍂 BACK ON THE ROAD AGAIN… BUT WHERE ARE WE GOING? 🍁

Well, here we go again! Mark and I are hitting the road today with no real destination in mind. No set plans, no definite arrival date, and absolutely no idea where we might end up! 😂

We know Florida is calling, but we're not entirely sure we're ready to answer just yet!

You see, there's something magical about the freedom of the open road. The peaceful mornings, the unexpected discoveries, the little towns, and the adventures waiting around the next bend.

And, well… let's just say we're not quite ready to trade all that peace for the hustle, bustle, and occasional playground politics that come with everyone returning to our winter community. 🤭

Don't get us wrong, there are wonderful people and friendships waiting for us. But sometimes, when you get a whole bunch of grown-ups together, you start wondering if recess ever really ended! 😂

So maybe we'll take the long way home. Maybe we'll discover someplace new. Or maybe we'll just keep driving until something tells us it's time to stop.

After all, isn't that what An American Adventure is all about? ❤️
