Painting? More like 'making a mess.' But pastel oil-based chalk? That's my happy place. Finger-smudging, color-blending bliss. Don't expect a Picasso, but you'll get a unique... something. You’ll also see my fingers and hands completely smothered in chalk.

This is another example of leaving my comfort zone— working on a large canvas and with all gray scale ☠️ after-all I made up Kay’s Colors for a reason

All artists see their flaws, that might be all I see. For instance I had to jam the neck of the wolf to fit the page here. The ears were also annoying me since this was for an art project and I could only use traditional charcoal-chalk. Also, I couldn’t use my fine tip markers for small details which was exceptionally irritating 🥴

We all have the potential to be artists, despite the misconception that talent is innate. Most of us start with basic drawings, so don't be too hard on yourself - your skills just need development or discovery.

Unfortunately, I don't know the original artist to give credit, and I'm unsure what the artwork looked like before my Nana modified it (top picture), but I tried to enhance it for her (bottom picture). She wanted more purple tones and felt the original was too plain and gray.

I pushed past my comfort zone, which is no easy feat. Using acrylic paint was a challenge for me, so I opted for sponges and my fingers on a medium/large canvas print. This was previously shared on my page. 🧽 🎨

These are just some of my favorites- I used PicCollage to toss these together.

I have a very bad habit of not photographing/scanning my art. 🖼️ 🫣

These are inspired from real life photos or drawings.

Hey everyone if you’re seeing this then I would like to thank you for following my new page! I am simply a creative mom with a passion for pastel chalk art! When I'm not chasing after my little ones, studying for my courses, working, or volunteering, then I am doodling away. Creating art is my lifelong passion, and while I've endeavored to establish it as a part-time business, I've come to realize that maintaining it as a hobby preserves the authenticity of my creative expression. This approach allows me to continue producing art that is true to my vision, without the pressures of commercialization.

I must admit that one of the most challenging aspects of being a solo artist is the difficulty of balancing my own creative goals with the expectations of clients. I struggle with the disappointment of not being able to bring a client's vision to life, particularly when it doesn't align with my own artistic direction or ability. Additionally, the unpredictability of my schedule, often hindered by the financial and logistical hardships of being an artist, can lead to difficulties in meeting client deadlines. Despite these challenges, I do appreciate the opportunity to create commissioned pieces for clients who appreciate my work, and I'm grateful for the financial support. Nevertheless, I also find immense joy in creating art as a gift, allowing me to share my talents with others and bring happiness into their lives, unencumbered by the pressures of meeting someone else's expectations.

With that being said I’d like to share some of my favorite artworks. Stay tuned!🎨🫶🏻
