Our Story

In 2015 one of my children had a major health scare that went unexplained for months. In an effort to dig deeper into what cased the health concerns, I began to look a lot closer at everything we put into our bodies, on our bodies, and into the air in our home. We started eating more organic foods and I began making safe household cleaners and organic skincare products.

While doing research, I discovered how toxic most candles on the market are and looked into making my own scented candles that weren’t only non-toxic, but actually neutralized allergens and cleaned the air in our home. I found that a blend of pure beeswax and coconut oil did just that. I wanted high-quality, sustainable ingredients free of harmful pesticides, so I used certified organic beeswax and coconut oil. I searched for non-toxic, phthalate-free fragrance oils to scent the candles so I wouldn’t have to go without the luxurious fragrances I loved. I was able to create simple, beautiful, hand-poured candles made with ingredients I know are safe for my family.

As a result of all of my research and testing, Grand Lake Candle Co. was born.

Grand Lake Candle Co. candles not only smell indulgent while cleaning the air, they also burn brighter, longer, and cleaner than the mass-produced candles available on the market today.
