Brush training, theses are non-intelocking hog brushes, the Raphaël paris classic.
This one was bent at about a 90° angle. I give them a quick dip in scalding hot water, just below boiling. That straightens most brushes, especially ones This clean. It's never been used, it was just improperly stored. But because these are hog (in general) and non-interlocked water makes them splay out, so the best way to fix that is some Master's brushes soap, left in the brush to dry, and a thread wrapping like this to put relatively even pressure on all sides.
Hog bristles are like a sponge and lose their shape in water. So this just holds them in place to dry.
