Gotta love a loyal sidekick. Mia's always up for a furniture pickup, even if she sometimes sleeps on the job. But just say those magic words, Wanna go bye bye?, and she can't wait to pick up the next dresser, desk or cabinet. I know you're all waiting breathlessly to see what my next fun project was that I love so much I could keep it myself....tahdahhhh...it's Steampunk Doggo. When I saw this decoupage print, I absolutely had to have it. I was a little disappointed in the small size, but I happened to find this perfect little cabinet and he had the perfect home. I happen to love steampunk stuff and even had a couple of cutouts left from my mixed media art days, which were perfect on the sides of the cabinet. I DARE you to look at that face and not smile!!! šŸ˜šŸ„°

Sometimes a girl just wants to have fun...and it's nice if the fun produces a little whimsy maybe someone else will enjoy. For some strange reason, I decided it would be fun to refinish a jewelry armoire. I'm not sure exactly why I thought this, and when I first started into it, I wanted to kick my own hiney...šŸ¤Ŗ but as time went on and I got inspired for how I wanted her to look, I was glad I lost my mind for a minute. She actually turned into a cutie patootie and I enjoyed learning how to do stripes on her sides and use up some magnolia transfers I bought a while ago. She's almost the cutest thing I've done...except for my next project...which is so dang cute I just might keep him!!!!

I could NOT resist this adorable little side table when I saw her! She was very plain Jane, prim and proper white (read boring) when I brought her home, but I knew just what she needed. She's the softest pale, pale sagey (I made that up šŸ˜¬) green on her top and sides, then a little GF Basil on her drawer and legs. Give her a little pazazz and I just know some shopper on MP will have to take her home. šŸ˜

Stay tuned, because I'm working on a first ever...and possibly last ever...jewelry armoire. Once again, my design ideas far exceed my capabilities, but heck, that's how we learn, right? No matter how many times we have to sand it off and start again...lol...That's where my trusty SurfPrep is my best friend. Aside from my big brother, who I'd gladly make do all that sanding if he only lived closer. Love you, bro. šŸ„°ā¤ļø

Having fun with this gorgeous dresser. Gotta LOVE Dixie Belle Coffee Bean paint. I wasn't too sure I was a fan of chalk paint, but after using Coffee Bean and (to die for, as they say...) dark and dramatic Caviar, they are my faves. They are so easy to use and always come out like velvet you could sink your hand down into. These transfers show up nicely with that rich brown backdrop. This beauty is on the way to market...place. šŸ¤©

So happy this beautiful desk got a home today! It will sit proudly in the office of a physician in Bend, OR. I don't know which one of us was more thrilled, but since it's such a big desk, it has left a huge empty space in my storage area. You fellow refinishers know what that means...if I may steal a line from my all time favorite movie, Pretty Woman...TIME TO GO SHOPPING! šŸ„³šŸ˜œšŸ‘
