So many types of art, so little time...
Woodburning or Pyrography allows me to create designs on wood, leather, cork and paper. The smell of the burning wood and the smooth and rough texture of the grain and bark set this style of art apart from the rest. I enjoy creating burnings of flowers, animals, trees and landscapes with a realistic, natural fee
l. Besides nature images, I also enjoy making customized woodburnings to celebrate weddings, births, new homes and other life events, as well as decorative sayings for home decor. I use multiple types of woodburners with removable tips to create different lines, textures, and shading. Watercolor paint, acrylic paint, colored pencil, or ink pen can be used to add color to highlight. There is no eraser for these burned lines. Through North East Wisconsin Technical College-Artisan and Business Center I discovered my love for creating pottery. I enjoy functional pieces like mugs and bowls as well as sculpture and hand-building. The endless color combinations of glaze and techniques available to create make this an always evolving creative process. I am always drawn to new creative projects and enjoy learning about different types of art. This page will have a combination of creations as I try new mediums.
