If this looks comfortable to you, we should probably talk.

Some people genuinely prefer a very firm mattress, and that’s exactly who our Extra Firm Classic Hybrid is made for.

Plywood not included.

Most mattresses aren’t made to flip anymore.

Our Classic Hybrid still is.

Both sides are built for sleeping, with the same feel on either side. Flip it periodically to help spread wear across the mattress over time.

Simple idea. Still a good one.

Some people like a soft mattress.

Some people want firm.

Really firm.

If you’re in that second group, meet the Extra Firm Classic Hybrid.

Flippable, supportive, and made for people who know exactly what kind of feel they want.

Wait... you can replace just the top layer?

Yup. That’s the idea.

The Duo is built with a separate comfort layer and support base. If your comfort needs change over time, you can replace the top layer without automatically replacing the entire mattress.

It’s a simple design change, but it can mean replacing a lot less over the life of the mattress.

A huge congratulations to Engineered Sleep brand ambassador Jacob Bridgeman on winning the inaugural Biltmore Championship Asheville!

Jacob overcame a five-shot deficit and fired a career-best final-round 61 to capture his second PGA TOUR victory. An unbelievable performance from start to finish.

We’re incredibly proud to have Jacob representing Engineered Sleep. Congratulations, champ! 👏

Why would anyone make a mattress in two pieces?

Because the part that provides comfort and the part that provides deeper support do different jobs.

Over time, your comfort needs can change without the entire mattress needing to be replaced.

That is why we designed the Duo with a separate comfort layer and support base.

Change the comfort. Keep the support.

Why replace the whole mattress if the whole mattress isn’t the problem?

The comfort materials closest to your body take repeated compression night after night and can lose their feel while the deeper support system still has useful life left.

That’s one of the reasons we designed the Duo in two pieces.

When your comfort needs change, you can replace the top instead of automatically starting over with an entirely new mattress.

Latex vs. memory foam, which is actually better?

The answer depends on what you want your mattress to feel like.

Memory foam tends to create a slower, deeper contour around your body, while latex feels more responsive and buoyant.

If you like feeling cradled by your mattress, you may lean toward memory foam.
If you prefer to feel more lifted and move around easily, latex may be a better fit.

Neither one wins for everyone.

Which would you choose: latex or memory foam?

We put together a complete comparison covering feel, cooling, pressure relief, couples, sleep positions and more:

When a mattress starts feeling worn out, we tend to assume the entire mattress is finished.

But the materials closest to your body take much of the repeated compression night after night. The deeper support system may still have plenty of life left.

It raises a pretty simple question:

Why replace the whole mattress if you don’t have to?

That question helped shape the two-piece design of our Duo.

Latex and memory foam may look similar, but they create very different sleeping experiences.

Memory foam slowly contours around the body and creates a deeper, cradling feel. Latex responds more quickly, keeping you more elevated with a buoyant feel that makes it easier to change positions.

Neither material is automatically better. Your ideal choice depends on how you sleep, whether you tend to sleep hot, how much you move, and what kind of comfort feels natural to you.

Swipe through our comparison, then let us know: Are you choosing latex or memory foam?
