Happy June Yall!

I created this cute door basket to go along with my Americana bunting.

The inspiration for the door basket started with these adorable handmade cherry pies from .misswreaths - she’s a talented artist and designer in CT. Her IG is full of fun 90s holiday decor and she makes the most fabulous wreaths and wreath attachments which is what these pies are meant to be but of course you can decorate with them! Her pies always sell fast so if you’re thinking about it just get it or they’ll be gone!

Sharing how I built this America 250 garland for a charming storefront in downtown Haddonfield I’m blessed to work with.

The skirmish is coming June 6 - the inspiration for this garland was the blue from the colonial uniforms. We’re looking forward to defeating the British again this week.

If you invest in a solid wired pine garland you will get a lot of use out of it if you love decorating year round.

The wire needles twist around ribbon, florals, and ornaments to hold everything in place, or you can wire or zip ties - even bread ties - to hold things on. This allows you to reuse your materials in various ways throughout the year because let’s be honest they’re an investment!

Step one is to hang the garland. I keep the back part against the wall flat.

Step 2 is add the blue mesh. I start at the top and work my way down, twisting it as a go.

Step 3 add my greenery to start hiding the pine. I used a blend of Ginko stems, Ivy, and something else I forgot.

Step 4 Flowers - I knew the look I wanted but only had so many so wanted to space them out without it looking perfectly spaced out.

Step 5 Ribbons - I tied soft blue velvet ribbons to some roses and let them dangle down to softly blow in the breeze and added blue stars to a few, added ribbons to fill in where the pine was still peeking out.

Step 6 Make the bows for the top. I used 1.5in ribbon for the sides and 4 in ribbon for the middle.

I still have a couple details to add I think we’re going back in to add some stems - then that should do it!

All my supplies are purchased wholesale y’all except for the garland - that’s from Costco last holiday season.

I’m working on the charming storefront of in downtown Haddonfield, New Jersey, where we’re getting g ready to kick off America 250 with the skirmish on June 6. That’s right! The British are coming!

I wanted to design something that felt old world - if someone standing in an authentic uniform was standing next to it - the design would feel like it belonged. A little wild, and slightly overgrown, like it’s been here for 250 years.

The shop also has the challenge of the sun beating through the window so we’re going to try and block as much of it as possible.

Once the mechanics of chicken wire and hooks are all in places, then I’ll go hunting for some real branches and greenery to add in, then I’ll add in all the faux foliage and florals!

A large wreath will go in the middle to fill the rest of the space!

A sweet little summer wreath I created for a local client with cheerful red impatiens, buttonwood and greenery, all from .rib

My ribbon is from and is an exclusive with D Lux line. It’s a sweet summery blue gingham trimmed with red and lined on the back with blue satin. I believe it’s sold out but I’m going to double check!

The width of my ribbon is 2.5 inches and this is an 18in wreath.

Magnolia Garden Wreath with ferns, monstera leaves, magnolia leaves and flowers all on a 27in Magnolia wreath base from Mills Floral.

My goal for this wreath was for the outside to feel connected to the interior. I love a good challenge and restraint is not my strong suit.

Sometimes the hardest part of design or art or creating is knowing when to stop.
