I know I've been pretty quiet on here lately, but I'm very excited to be vending my first tomorrow night! 🖤 I'll have with me an array of handmade journals, an assortment of vintage ephemera, a selection of blind dates with a book, hamdmade bookmarks, a collection of enamel pins and stickers for you to shop! 💌📚🗝💫
This is my last event on the books currently as I prepare for some big changes in my mystical little corner of the universe ✨️💖 I'm always available thru DM and hope to get my online shop up and running, but if you want to see me in person, come out tomorrow night and support some incredible makers at this Magical market 💕

💫 It's a wild Friday night over here! 😂💜 Seam ripping & prepping fabrics for future journals! I'm staying nice and cozy under a heated blanket with my pup 🥰
There's so many little random tasks that go on behind the scenes into making handmade products! This is time consuming for sure, but prepping my fabrics helps me get more use out of each piece, and makes it so much easier to cut down to size when it comes time!
I'm sure other small business owners can relate to doing the unseen or "boring" tasks that make things so much easier in the long run! What's one thing you're doing this weekend for your business?

📓✨️ Finally, I grabbed a journal for myself 🖊 I have been collecting pages and things for my personal journal for literally years now, but I can never bring myself to actually start putting it together! 🤷‍♀️ So I just grabbed one that I never fully finished in time for my markets last year and started to dive in! 💚 Journaling is so therapeutic for me, and I've actually never gotten to use one of my own creations, so this is extra exciting! 😊 I know a lot of us get hung up on starting at the "right time" or waiting for some monumental event to kick off a new habit or get back into things, but I decided a few years ago that today is just as good a day as any other to start making changes in your life! 🥂 Here's to new beginnings on random days in the middle of the month and a self-love journey that is forever evolving! 🔮✨️💖

Hello, and welcome to my page! I'm Ashley and the creative force behind The Modest Mystic 💫

I was introduced to the world of junk journaling through my amazing international pen pal coven back in 2018. I fell in love with the creativity and the process of creating handmade journals and stationary items. I am inspired every day by the beauty around me and my love for nature, plants, gardening, flowers, traveling, thrifting and upcycling. I spent a year traveling around the USA with my husband in our homemade campervan conversion. I continued to collect materials across the country and create journals on the road and finally decided to share my creations with the world in December 2022. I have enjoyed meeting my customers face to face at various markets throughout the NJ area this year and am looking forward to connecting with you all more as I continue my creative journey!
