I find it so special when I can paint two pets whose time on earth didn’t overlap much. You love both of these beings so much, but there wasn’t enough time to capture the perfect picture of them together. For me, being able to paint them, and see them together forever, heals that loss a little bit and helps you feel like they’re both with you.

Another puppy from the Hodge Podge litter!! I am so delighted to have had the opportunity to paint the members of this litter to help them find their forever homes 💗🐾🐶😭

Some ornaments from the holiday season!! I loved painting these two girlies so much.

These were purchased by a repeat client for her sister for Christmas. As an artist (who deffffffinitely lives with imposter syndrome), it is so easy to believe I am not talented or the paintings aren’t up to my client’s standards. But when someone orders a second time from me, it brings me so much joy, so much validation, that I really can bring joy and comfort to those who love and/or miss their pets 🥹 so thank YOU for supporting me and believing in my dream!!

Happy Mother’s Day!!

I am, and always will be, floored by the power of women. To all mom’s today (and every day), I am in awe of your power, your love, your sacrifice, and your presence. May today bring you peace, love, joy, and a reminder of something vital: you’re doing a great job. 🌷

A special shoutout to my own mom, who has chosen to love me through every chapter, project, interest, and adventure. She has stood by me through my education, my relationships, my healing, my growth. She has supported me in every art project, little interest, art market, business idea, and painting. She has shown me the power of healing oneself, prioritizing health and self, rest, hard work, and, most importantly, the power of levity and silliness. She showed me how beautiful the world is and how every animal needs love. I cannot believe how lucky and blessed I am to have the best mom on the planet.

GET READY 🎢 this is the one that made me crack last year.

I still think about this portrait all the time 😭 Not because it cracked (although YES I absolutely panicked for approximately 4 million business hours!!!)

But because this little ornament reminded me that the best art is made by humans, and humans are… complicated. We mess up sometimes. Wood cracks sometimes. Deadlines happen. And kind people can make a stressful moment feel so much softer.

I was emotionally attached to this portrait from the second I started painting it.

Since then, I’ve changed my process and learned a lot about sealing wood before painting. But I also learned something way bigger: Most people are gentler than our anxiety tells us they’ll be.

Anyway. Here’s the portrait that humbled me, taught me a lesson, and somehow still came out incredibly cute 🥹
