⦠Some rainy Sunday light reading for you š
..
I realize Iāve been very quiet on this page for quite some time. Since July, after everything that happened with my mom, weāve been trying to catch our breath again, regain some traction on the life we had before and claw our way out of the hole it feels weāve fallen into.
The posts I choose to make and when to make them are incredibly intentional to me on this business page. Itās so important to me what I share, and how I say it because offering light, beauty, positivity, authenticity, hope and Jesus on this little corner of the internet is what I hope to bring to you when you land on this page. Itās imperative to me that what I share through flowers and, at times, our personal life helps someone else, even just one.
Iām going to break this down into two sections. First, the update on my sweet mom and second, my recent thoughts on all thisā¦please feel free to read whatever youād like or skip around, or just enjoy the pics lol- (especially the last oneš) I know Iāll get lengthy here.
š¤In July after an extensive surgery we discovered that my mom has what is called a Mucinous ovarian cancer. A couple of major praises here to mention: after surgery we were told we are facing a stage 3 if not stage 4. Pathology finally came back weeks later informing us we are actually facing a stage 2 - we are so very grateful for it not being worse like we were preparing for. Second major praise is that it did not spread to her lymph nodes. Besides these two major milestones, COUNTLESS blessings have taken place.
š¤Currently, we have successfully completed two out of six chemo treatments and are praising the Lord for side effects that have been difficult but manageable.
š¤We shaved her hair last Tuesday. Harper wanted and was able to be there and watch how strong a woman can be. Our dear friend Susan Krentler walked us through this difficult chapter and made what was a horrible situation, lighthearted and safe. We got to see mom with a Mohawk, a rat tail and little crazy bangsšš„¹. We laughed and we cried and that woman sure looks beautiful in her little caps and beanies. Her blue eyes are even more stunning now.
š¤For months weāve grieved alongside her. For her health, her body before, her beautiful silver hair, her work she had to step back from and so much more.
š¤ We have rough days, crying sessions, and sometimes deep conversations. But alongside that we are also enjoying time together that we wouldnāt have otherwise had with our work schedules. Weāre enjoying the great days when we are blessed with them - especially last Tuesday for music bingo at Sign of the Horse Brewery - Hanover (love and appreciate you, Dina š)
š¤Ladies ⦠ADVOCATE for your health. Fight for it. Find the providers that you feel comfortable with and that you feel really hear you⦠You are never wrong to ask questions and speak up for yourselvesš.
šItās been very clear to me for a little while now that my family has entered into what Iāve been calling āa season in the valleyāā¦.
Truth be told I clung to the mountain top very tightly and was very grateful up there! Before this diagnosis, Tanner and I literally the month before were sitting on our patio sharing a bottle of w**e talking about how good things were, how grateful we were for everyoneās health, how well his and my job were going .. we went on and onā¦š„ŗ Then we tumbled down to where we are now.
šWhich leads me to share and end with one comforting thing that keeps resonating in my mind from a song I heard just before this all happened :
āWhat you said on the mountain, is still true in the valleyā ā¦.
( š¶Tasha Latonās āMeet Me in the Valley)
ā¦We arenāt promised an easy life or one without struggle, but Iāve heard that God promises that He will be right beside us when we face these difficult seasons. The past couple of weeks, Iāve asked the Lord to reveal to me the times He was with me ..even when I chose not to look for Him⦠and to help me find the beauty and blessings down here in the valley (and to please let me know when weāre on our way out of it !š
). I did tell him in a quiet prayer that I would be patient here in this season for however long we are here and would share the blessings that are still finding their way to us ⦠so with that ⦠please enjoy whatās been our little life lately and scroll to the last picture to see our biggest blessing of hope.
Please know Iām thinking of you , whoever you might be , reading this thinking that you too are in this dark valley ⦠you will be ok down here š seasons change all the time and so do circumstances. And if we take a minute to catch our breath after our fall, and open our eyes to look around, we can see that itās still pretty down here, that He is still here with us and that blessings still are given, even if they donāt look like what we prayed or hoped for. š¤
All my love
