A beautiful work of art by fellow crafter Rod Sanderson! I was fortunate to have the winning bid on a custom bamboo fly rod at the Dakota Trout Unlimited banquet last April. I later learned that I would have input on everything from the rod's length, weight, taper, hardware, reel seat, grip, and color scheme as the "Rick Warkenthien Special" was created. What an experience and an heirloom that will be handed down.

I don't know where this base came from or its original purpose. Many times, I've stared at it, thinking of its potential. While building some cutting boards, I set one on top, and the idea came to me. End table, plant stand, book table... the possibilities are endless! Wouldn't this look great in your home or office?
