We wanted to share a Fix It Fred update with you all.
Unfortunately at the end of May, Fred’s trusty sidekick, Gus, had a disc rupture in his back (a condition called IVDD), which paralyzed his back end. He went through two surgeries but was still unable to walk.
We are fortunate to have a great team at the MU Vet Hospital and have been doing twice weekly underwater treadmill sessions to regain neurological function.
The good news is that Gus is making progress! We are hopeful that he will eventually be able to walk again.
Fred has taken on the lion’s share of Gus’s care—PT sessions, home exercises, endless diaper changes, etc. As a result, his availability for jobs has been limited.
We’re at a point where he can start to take on more jobs, but they need to be smaller jobs so he can check on Gus, change diapers, and get him to his appointments. So, if you have smaller jobs like hanging tvs, light fixtures, kitchen fixtures, etc., let us know.
TL,DR: in addition to being the best fix it guy, Fred is also the best dog daddy.
Thank you all for your patience as we have navigated this challenging time!
