🍜🌶️ BIRRIA RAMEN — Two obsessions collide in one INSANE bowl! 🤯
Mexican birria meets Japanese ramen and honestly... it's the crossover nobody knew they needed. Rich, smoky, spicy consommé + tender braised beef + springy noodles + a jammy egg = your new favorite dinner. Who's making this TONIGHT?! Drop a 🔥 below!
📋 RECIPE (serves 4):
Birria Beef:
1.2kg beef chuck, cut into chunks
3 dried guajillo chiles, stems removed
2 dried ancho chiles, stems removed
1 chipotle in adobo
4 garlic cloves
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Salt & pepper to taste
For the Bowl:
4 portions ramen noodles
4 soft-boiled eggs (7 mins)
4 spring onions, sliced
Fresh cilantro
Sesame seeds
Lime wedges
Directions:
1️⃣ Toast dried chiles in a dry pan 30 seconds each side. Soak in hot water 20 mins until softened.
2️⃣ Blend soaked chiles, garlic, cumin, oregano, paprika, vinegar & 1 cup soaking liquid until smooth.
3️⃣ Season beef generously. Sear in a hot pot until browned all over.
4️⃣ Pour chile sauce over beef + 4 cups beef broth. Slow cook 3–4 hrs until fall-apart tender (or pressure cook 60 mins). Shred the beef and keep the consommé broth.
5️⃣ Soft boil eggs 7 mins → ice bath → peel & halve.
6️⃣ Cook ramen noodles per packet. Ladle hot consommé into bowls, add noodles, shredded beef & egg. Top with spring onions, cilantro, sesame seeds & a big squeeze of lime. 🤌
