I wanted to launch TK Candle Co. before now, but I wanted things to be completely figured out, I wanted everything to go smoothly, I didn’t want any hiccups and no unknowns, I wanted everything to be perfect. Well that’s not life is it! That’s not what this journey is about or why I started this. I wanted you to come along on the evolution of my brand. It’s not a natural state to be transparent about the fact that I don’t know what I’m doing and mistakes I make. I have nightmares about someone receiving a candle from me that they aren’t happy with. The fact is, I don’t know what I’m doing, I don’t have it all figured out, I have made mistakes and will make more and someone may receive a candle from me they don’t like. It’s all unknowns in doing something I’ve never done before. Over everything I want you to know if you choose to support me and my business I want you to be 100% satisfied, and will do whatever I can to make sure you are. You are the reason I will get better. Thank you for riding this wave with me, being patient with me and most of all honest with me so I can become better and you always have a good experience with TK Candle Co.

Wooden Wick Care

Through this process I have noticed that wooden wicks can be kind of tricky. I would like to share some of the things I’ve learned to make sure you get the best performance from burning your candle.
There doesn’t need to be a lot of wick to light. You’ll notice that when I pour the wax I only leave about ¼ of an inch to ½ an inch of wick to light. When I leave any more than that it’s almost like the wick doesn’t want to stay lit.
If your wick acts this way, let it go out and cool. Once cool, break off any of the thin, burnt, usually easily broken pieces off the wick. Try to light it again and your candle should perform better. This is also suggested before lighting your candle each time.

Let’s talk about labels... the first picture is what I ordered and the second picture is what I got (from 2 different locations) and here are the lessons learned...

1. We don’t like the matte
2. We think the label itself could be bigger
3. Do better research when searching for potential vendors
