With A "K" Creations Homemade items customized to the customer- I make rag quilts, memory quilts, burp cloths, bibs in all sizes including adult. I monogram & embroider items.

I make and sell homemade items in my spare time. All items are custom made. I make a wide range of items from embroidered dish towels to aprons to tissue holders to rag quilts and crochet items. When I bought my 1st embroidery machine in 2006, I started making simple projects like pillows and then moved into making bibs for my disabled niece. She still wears several of the bibs I made her original

ly. Over the years, I started to make baby items for friends and coworkers and embroider on items for them.

A memory popped up on my regular facebook newfeed today. I did not realize that my small hobby buisness has been going for 19 years.
I learned a lot from those first few years. Some years, it was booming and some years it has been very slow. The last few years, I have taken it easy and been very quiet about my creations. I put my etsy shop into vacation/clean up mode in January 2024 and have not opened it back up.
My new years resolution is open my shop back up and to get back to what I love doing! My goals for this year is to complete and post more of my projects.

I learned a new technique to use for my newest granddaughter's quilt. This technique is called an economy block or a square in a square. Every quilt square is different and unique in fabrics used. I am in love with this farm themed quilt. It is much larger than a standard baby quilt at 52"x59" so she will be able to use this for years to come.

First official look at my updated sewing room- I love how it came together. In July, after my youngest got married, we started the renovation by ripping out the carpet and putting in LVT flooring. We painted the walls a beautiful color called Waterscape by Sherwin Williams. It is a very calming color. Then we added new lightning with a new ceiling fan and pendant light. I got all new cabinets for fabric and yarn storage, new thread racks, pegboard, and desk. I know have a cozy corner to crochet or sew next to the window. I bought a kitchen island that rolls around the middle of the room to be my cutting table/work space. We even added tile to the long wall in the closet. I can't wait to spend time in my new room and start creating again.

I worked on this and finished all but the border when Hurricane Helene hit at the end of September. It has been sitting in my sewing room waiting for me to finish it. I will be adding the border this weekend and completing it. This quilt does not have a home yet. It is for sale. Send me a message if you would love to get it. This would make someone's Christmas morning happy!

I know it has been a while since I have posted. A lot has happened in my life, and I am just getting back to sewing. A few highlights from this year:
We sold our food truck in MaY
Our youngest got married in July.
I overhauled my craft room in August-September (new flooring, painted walls, new furniture, new layout)
Our 2nd granddaughter was born on November 6, and she spent a week in the Nicu.

Now that I am back to sewing, I am showing off my latest creation. This is a throw blanket sized Clemson inspired quilt.
