I’m taking a moment to reflect on this project that deserves a moment to slow down and soak her all in. I’ve touched on some of the details before but here are the special parts-

The precious owner faced the loss of her daughter and husband back to back, leaving her with a large house and what felt like a mountain of grief. Grief turned into brainstorming and that led her to let family move into her big house and she had the idea of turning her husband’s detached garage into her own tiny home. Because grief is brutal, she said she didn’t have the capacity to make any decisions. I got the honor of doing it all-paint colors, flooring and tile to new furniture selections. Her one request? A crystal door k**b on her bedroom door!

I knew light and airy was the way to go. I inverted the trim, taking it darker with a lighter wall. This allowed the space to have depth without feeling heavy with a darker paint or monotone with a color drench. The shiplap feature in the built-ins add charm and the Taj Mahal quartzite counter tops in the kitchen are to die for.

For her bedroom and bathroom, I used her existing bedroom suite, changing the bedding and decor around it to make it feel super girly and classy. The bathroom compliments it with a punch of sass (hello oversized floral wallpaper and ruffled bench) and softness with gold accents.

Keep scrolling to see what we started with-just studs and a dream. What felt like a mess and a mountain of sadness, became a home and a retreat. This project was an absolute honor to be a part of. 💛

I’ve been busy working , painting, designing and going through every detail with a fine tooth comb. On the days where I find myself so tired and want to stop, I take myself right back into this bathroom because, well duh. It just sparks joy. When Yo Bro became a dream, we knew it didn’t need to be a typical coffee shop. So fun and funky are the two words we keep going back to to describe everything that’s happening. Next week we get to install furniture and all the other decor. Stay tuned!

I love a full day!!! Also, did I mention I’m knee deep in the plans of opening a coffee shop with my husband?! I’ve been saving the details but a dedicated post is on its way. I can’t wait to share all things design for this space.

I can’t wait to show you this entire project as this staircase is just one small piece of the whole design plan BUT I couldn’t wait to show you what a big impact something as simple as wallpaper can have in a small space. We actually had enough at the end to do the other side too so…waste not, want not! We used it all up to make these spaces feel purposeful and tied in with the rest of the makeover. Stay tuned for the big reveal soon!

When the paper house makes it out of the paper!

The colors popping in my flower beds have me reminiscing on this super fun and colorful bedroom.

When a friend told me she needed help making her camper feel more like home and less… camper-ish, I was all in. Then I saw the camper and immediately thought, “Yeah… this might be hopeless.” 😂

But after tossing around ideas with Haley, we knew everything had to be removable to help maintain trade-in value down the road.

So, even though I usually avoid it, peel-and-stick wallpaper and tile became the stars of the show—adding color, texture, and character to spaces that desperately needed a little life. We layered in artwork and photos using Command strips so everything can easily be swapped out or removed when the time comes. And finally, the master bed got a full-on “glamping” makeover.

This project was such a fun challenge. It pushed my creativity in new ways, and seeing it all come together made it even better.

It doesn’t take much to change the entire feel of a room. Yesterday we installed grass cloth wallpaper in a new guest space for a client and oh. my. word. It made an immediate difference. Setting the stage with the walls will make the rest of the changes happen so easily. I can’t wait to see this room come together-it will be nothing less than a full retreat.

Another paper room and this one has me swooning. 😍

I designed this for a client who wanted a dark bedroom with jewel tones. A place to retreat from the demands of life and the throws of motherhood. A place for herself to exhale and sit with Jesus. I think this hits the mark.

I can’t wait to bring this space to life!

Can we talk about how small changes can make a big impact — especially on a budget?

This kitchen is getting a moderate makeover, and one thing we considered was painting the cabinets. That quickly became a hard no once we realized the cabinets were full of the rustic divots and slashes that were popular 10 years ago… but not so much anymore. Replacing the cabinets wasn’t in the budget, so we focused on the one thing we could change: the hardware.

By choosing slightly longer pulls in the same footprint, we avoided drilling new holes and simply swapped them out for beautiful gold hardware. Such a small change, but it completely elevated the space without a major expense.

What’s a small change you’ve made in your home that had a big impact?
