Here is Happy finalizing a re-oil of a wide plank live sawn French oak. There were a lot of repairs along the way, so this final process evens out the finish, takes away most of the scratches, and most importantly, leaves an incredible builder with a pleased homeowner.

Over the last 15 years, Quorum has been the new construction flooring contractor for most of Houston’s high-rise condo towers. We have definitely assisted in changing the Houston skyline based upon our relationship with Houston’s most talented and experienced developers and GC’s.

Our custom home clients are some of Houston’s most honorable and skilled.

It would be an understatement to say that we have done at least 1000 repairs comprising of thousands of board replacements. From single boards to giant sections.

We’ve all experienced it. The plans are perfect. The design is perfect. The builder is exceptional. The floor selection is awesome. The installation is great. But gravity is a flooring contractor’s worst enemy. Some trades stumble. Punch work is always chaotic. Stuff happens. But the lesson here is not “expect problems”. The lesson is how well are you going to take care of your clients. Far too often we are called in to fix an issue because the previous contractor is absent when problems arrive. We will always attack any problem as a team member until everyone is satisfied.

The client selected a true French prefinished white oak. What made this hardwood unique is there are very few manufacturers that gently apply the urethane so that the material looks almost raw. Exceptionally natural. As always, whenever the floor can be “live sawn” with rift and quartering, the installation becomes even more impressive.

Including walnut tops to a space adds a totally unique upgraded aesthetic. Quorum has fantastic fabricators for both tops and custom treads. It’s always a joy (and adds a lot of satisfaction) to be able to excel for our clients beyond the floor.
