North Carolina teenager Darius Huggins, who has high-functioning autism, reportedly asked FOUR girls to prom and was rejected every time. Instead of letting him sit home embarrassed, his mother Maxine stepped in and became his prom date herself.
She pulled up with her son in a Cadillac Escalade and smiling like it was THEIR red carpet moment. After seeing how many neurodivergent teens and students with disabilities feel excluded during prom season, Maxine decided to launch “Moms On Proms,” a movement meant to make sure no teen gets left behind just because they’re different.
Some folks online said the girls had every right to say no, while others said this mother deserved an award for standing ten toes behind her son when the world tried to make him feel unwanted ❤️
Would y’all have done the same for your child? 👀
